Aston Martin and Williams livery look the best amongst the lot.

Thanks for the thread. There are some really good liveries this year. Loved the Alpine and Williams ones, but Aston Martin is really wicked. Being Merc-powered, it probably perform accordingly too. McLaren is nice and bright as usual, but I would have like some more silver in the Mercedes cars. Black is fine, but a tad too conservative.

Waiting for the challenger from Ferrari now.

Can't vote yet, but it's the Mercedes, Alpine and AMR for me, in that order. This may surprise some, since the Merc's mostly black with some cyan accents thrown in courtesy of Petronas, but I love the stealth of the look which accentuates the svelteness of the great design perfectly.

With the much-vaunted AMR, I was expecting a deeper, Jaguar-like green and was a touch disappointed to see the colour leaning more towards a conservative teal. But let's wait and see if it looks better in natural light.

At the other end of the spectrum the Ferrari is probably the most disappointing, and it's uncanny how much like the BMW Williams of yore the Alpha Tauri looks!

Alpine racing colour scheme looks quite close to Gillette Fusion



The best racing livery has to be hands down Aston Martin, looks wicked.

I like Alpine and Aston Martin. Fingers crossed they will also do well on the grid. And Green Mercedes sounds better than Pink Merecedes

For me, it has to be Aston Martin and Mercedes. Standalone Ferrari also looks good but when comapared with others, fails to make a mark. I am sure, none of us have seen Aston Marin in F1 circuit till now, hope they will live up to the expectations set by their launch.

Im a diehard Fernando's fan and the Alpine A521's livery looks absolutely smashing. Cant wait to see this beauty in action on the track.

Though most of the Liveries are looking fabulous, but my pick would be that of Alpine's.

Eagerly awaiting to see Fernando Alonso back in action again, I just hope they are able to challenge the domination of Mercedes this season.

I voted for the Alpine because the livery is not that conservative and I really like the way that blue pops out. It really works well together. Although I m not personally a big fan of the team or their current drivers. But they have made progress and wishing them the best of luck to take it forward.

AMF1 definitely looks really good too. I love the green livery but it just doesnt stand out. All the colours kind of fuses together, wouldnt call it the best out there.

Sorry Ferrari, that livery is now looking aged. Very tired looking car, i hope they can perform better this year. My boy Charles deserves a better car!

Haas F1 - what was one of the best liveries in black and gold couple of years ago has now become a Russian flag. With money issues plaguing the team, I wouldnt be suprised if it is sold soon. Would like to see Mick doing well though, with a Good Ferrari engine hoping will make some impact.

Sean Bull and the team at Alpine pulled off a great job with the Alpine livery. I highly recommend following Sean, he's one of the best up and coming livery designers, having worked with teams such as the Enstone F1 (ie, formerly Renault, now Alpine); Hyundai WRC and others.

Really impressed with the Aston, they've done a solid job on that livery. Everyone was curious if they'd go with AMR's racing colours, which tend to be fluorescent yellow and green with orange highlights. Or there were rumours they'd keep the BWT pink (if the latter had remained title sponsor). But it makes sense to go with the British racing green - at the end of the day, the F1 team is now tied to Papa Stroll's plans of developing the road car brand into a like for like Ferrari challenger (in terms of sales volumes and brand cache). To that end, much the same way Ferrari leans heavily on their traditional red, it was a no brainer that Aston would rely on British racing green (of course there's the little fact that Aston has no real F1 pedigree - theirs lie in Le Mans and in sportscar racing but whatever..). I also think Aston have done a decent job integrating the BWT signature pink as a stripe. Overall Aston's livery is far more striking than the parent Mercedes.

There are quite a few teams though that really missed an opportunity to have some fun with the livery. I think Ferrari were on the right track plumbing the archives and bringing some burgundy in, I wish they'd be braver and go for say a Mansell era-esque burgundy and black with the obligatory Marlboro, I mean Mission Winnow, logo in yellow instead of green!

Even with Williams, I'm really disappointed. I mean it terrifies me how barren that car is of sponsors but if you have a blank slate like that, why not have fun and use some of the great old liveries from the past? There's no denying how much love there is for the old family firm amongst fans - now that the Williams are gone, they could've done a far better job using the white, yellow and blue of the 90s hey day.

To be fair, everyone liked the old black and gold Rich Energy livery only because it so clearly played on the classic John Player Special black and gold liveries of Lotuses of yore. Again unsurprising that a total charlatan like William Storey would do so to give his whole shady enterprise a veneer of respectability. Gene is better off not having anything to do with that mess. Having said that though he sure has made another deal with a proverbial devil in the Mazepins and UralKali.. Haas might be forced to dump this Russian flag, sorry, I mean Mazepin livery because it falls foul of the overarching WADA ban against Russian athletes competing under any Russian national flag or iconography. A ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport banned Russian athletes from competing under the Russian flag in world championship events for the next two years due to doping violations, and that ban also applies to Mazepin, meaning he must race under a neutral flag.

As well as that, Mazepin is not allowed to use any emblems, symbols, or the words “Russia” or “Russian” on any clothing or equipment.

It's really not a great look for a team that's been on life support for a while now. Both father and son Mazepin have a bad reputation but it isn't the first time F1 as a whole has associated themselves with unsavoury characters. Who's excited for the Saudi GP?

While I'm happy a bunch of solid F1 folks like Ted Kravitz and Karun Chandok found homes under Sky, in all honesty losing all free to air coverage is killing the sport in heartland markets such as the UK. Long term I think Liberty Media will really need to rethink their broadcasting model because it could eventually go down the route of say WRC or other disciplines that went behind pay walls. It's not like their own F1 TV offering is any good. Been years and it's still a buggy mess.

To me AMR21 is the pick of the lot. i love the way they have designed the livery with British Racing green fused with that shade of red on the edges. I like the black rim combo as well. To me it look the most cohesive livery design of the lot.

The second surprisingly is Ferrari. Ferrari in any other color than red will be sacriledge. However why i love their livery is because of the way they have used the splash of burgundy from their heritage racing cars. The SF1000 last year in full burgundy looked horrendous to me but I love the current approach.

The Alpine looks like some kind of advertisement, too flashy for my taste too. But then it sure is different and attention grabbing. You will never mistake it for any other team on the grid.

No worries. Another super talented motorsport livery designer to follow, is Tim Holmes. He does a lot of F1 mock ups out of personal interest but I don't think he has an F1 client that I know of. He has however done helmet designs for former F1 drivers like Marcus Ericsson, and liveries for other disciplines like the LMP and DPi classes.
