Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

I find one hitch. In the artificial light Tyre colours are tough to discriminate.

May I suggest that the list of vehicles on the left, should be colour coded with the tyre info! Easy to do, but will be useful.

Again there is no live telecast of the race on Star sports, its available only on Star Sports Select HD.
It's live streaming from now on.

Both quali and race will be broadcasted in Star sports 4 (SD)channel. HD will only be available in SS Select 2 channel.
This is what I can see listed in Tata sky

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

No luck for SD Channel subscribers. BPL Match/ Pro Kabbadi / Bundesliga but no Formula 1. Hamster seems to have had a bad day again.

Rosberg more than 7 tenths ahead of him on old powertrain.

Qualifying top three - 1. Rosberg, 2. Ricciardo, 3. Hamilton

Ricciardo could shoot ahead of Rosberg tomorrow based on how the start happens. The start could be the only interesting bit of tomorrows race.

  • Rosberg nails pole, and Ricciardo denies the front row to Hamilton.
  • Vettel's suspension issues meant he couldn't set a proper time in Q1 and was eliminated.
  • Verstappen on P4 and Kimi on P5 - its not just the titanium skid blocks that will be creating sparks tomorrow!
  • Alonso gets a McLaren ahead of a Force India.
  • The Toro Rosso's prove they have some phenomenal aero - despite the 2015 Ferrari being the slowest through the speed traps (yes, slower than McLaren Honda) they still qualify below the big 3!

Today's quali cut off on SS4 sharp at 7:30 pm and moved into SS Select. If tomorrow's race likewise extends beyond 7:30 pm, I'm not sure if it'll continue to run on SS4. Given the near-certainty of a safety car, there's a real chance the race might run beyond 7:30 pm. The last few weeks have shown other sports getting priority on SS4/SS2 over F1.

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

Vettel at the back. Given the nature of the circuit it may be difficult to break into the top ten. Given that Vestappen has qualified 4th looking forward to some unorthodox overtaking moves to make up places.

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

Lewis looks lost. And Nico had a brilliant lap for P1.

Red Bull looks very strong. And the start is going to be crucial. Ricciardo is going to start on the harder compound compared to Mercedes and on the dirty side of the track.

So, Lewis has to overtake the Red Bull at the start, else it will be very difficult for him.

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

Whoever expected a lizard of that size to cross the track that too middle of downtown Singapore track!!!! How did such a strict country give the lizard an all access pass??

The pit radio communication was funny. Face to face with Godzilla.

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

Mega mega lap from Rosberg! Didnt expect such a large gap to Red Bull in the end.. or to Lewis.
But the race is another thing altogether is it not.

The other interesting bit is on Renault PU allocation. After confirming only Max would get the upgraded PU, it now appears all the 4 drivers have got it!

Toro Rosso appear to have magically got back onto it. Surprising they are ahead of McLaren.

Re: 2016 Formula 1 Singapore GP

Can someone please share links on which streaming will be available? SS has clearly de-prioritised F1.

@avdhesh15.
The full race is available on Star Sports 4 Standard Definition. Am I missing something?

The problem is if the race extends beyond the scheduled timeslot, which is expected in Singapore with 100% safety car record, they will cut the broadcast and go ahead with the next scheduled program.
Same happened yesterday during qualifiers, when Q3 was delayed by 10 minutes following the crash of Grosjean, they stopped the broadcast in SS4, wheres it continued in SS Select.

Anyway with the mixed up starting grid, it should be an entertaining first lap atleast. Love to see Max making a move on Lewis at first corner

My cable provider (7 Star in Mumbai) is having his annual marital discord with Star network. All Star channels are down!
