Re: 2015 Formula 1 USA GP – Austin, COTA

Here's the official classification from FIA.

Looks like weather is an important factor in making an exciting race. Most of the good races recently were spiced up by the rain gods. Bring on the random sprinklers. Bernie.

Nice to see McLarens fighting with other cars. JB would want to save the picture of his fastest race lap.

Who knows what will happen in the next race. Now Nico is only throwing the cap, maybe he will throw the car at LH next time around.

Looks childish to do that. It was Nico's race to lose until he ran wide, he has to blame himself for doing that.

Re: 2015 Formula 1 USA GP – Austin, COTA

Is there a link to watch the re-run on?

It is not uploaded on Youtube yet.

Thought I set the alarm to wake up in time for the race, but I hadn't and I missed the most interesting race according to many .

Re: 2015 Formula 1 USA GP – Austin, COTA

I had stayed up to watch the qualifying till I heard of the second postponement, so went off to sleep. I was too sleepy for the race so missed it altogether. Just saw the recording today. Again got involved with something so missed the Raikkonen retirement.

Interesting picture tweeted by bbc.
Puts the whole WDC thing in perspective.

Looks like next year we will see either another 5 time champion or an addition to the 4 time champions.

Failed to catch the race due to the awkward timing and looks like I missed a belter. Anyways, hearty congratulations in order for F1' latest triple champion and fellow Gooner.

You can watch the full highlights, including the podium interviews and some, on the StarSports app. I did the same. Not sure if they have a website for it too, but you can check that out. I think the HotStar app has the highlights too.

There was a guy whose sole job was to distribute caps to drivers. Where was he this time?

maybe he was made redundant due to the worsening economic situation.

I think Lewis was not entirely blameless in the incident, if you see the full sequence of events.
That said, Nico is looking grumpier by each passing race.

Re: The 2016 F1 Season Thread

And finally managed to finish the race.
People in delhi/Noida, was there some issue in the transmission, glitches? The first half was completely ruined with the video hanging every minute!

One, the telecast looked VERY like the indian GP, the haze(shade, in this case).
What an insane event! I know its being called the cracker of the season(so far), but it was not a race for the most part. It was just slipping, sliding, crashing, thinning the herd.
Overtakes going wrong, overtakes happening while trying to follow .
I didnt hear on the telly how Hulkenberg had broken his front wing before the bump. Anyone know?

Something for the black cars, FINALLY!!!!

Nico rosberg: Such a petulant child!! Was the cap incident for the first lap, or was he still upset about having lit up his car's backend and losing the lead? Wow!! Why is he being so mediocre? I think he's been pissed for quite a while now, and driving in anger is not working for him at all. He was much better in the early days.

To the MAN!
Hammy Buay!!
Here's to another step in getting past the Red baron!
"Lewis, look after the car."
Whee!!Donut!!
"Lewis, mate, please look after the car. Take care of the car mate!!"
Brilliant!!!
Whattay day...Phew!

Re: 2015 Formula 1 USA GP – Austin, COTA

Wow! what a race! the RBRs went from leading it to almost out of points!! Maybe they gambled on a wet race only setup. My takeaways-
- Nico has to put in weekends like this (minus the mistake). He was faster in wet & dry. Also be more forceful.
- Danil Kyat - how many times did he shoot the turn?
- I like Austin track. The viewing itself is very refreshing with all the elevation changes.

Lewis has won 10 races already to Nico's 3. Nico has to finish ahead of him for the remaining season if he hopes to ever challenge him again.

Er, Championship is finished. Unless you meant as an ego booster for the next season.

Highly emotional Nico there! Lewis's reaction to Nico's hat throwing says it all. 'Stop whining', I am much better than you are. Where was Vettel? He usually would have a sharp comment to add to that.

I too was unable to see the race. Feel like a missed a real exciting one. Looking forward to Mexico, similar conditions expected this weekend too.
