Chris Dyer has left Ferrari but isn't legally free to work in #f1 until mid-2012

Heading to Mercedes huh! Is the great team getting back together

Guess these are in IST?

BTW, who is counting on Senna to end the monopoly of Red bulls - if not now, in the near future?

Aldo Costa, who left Ferrari earlier this year, is also probably joining Mercedes to work with his old mate Ross Brawn. Seems like the old super team is getting back together at Mercedes. All that is lacking is Jean Todt and Rory Byrne and it would become a team like Sly's team in "The Expendable" .

Senna? The biggest challenge to the Bulls will come from Lewis or Alonso. Senna is not that good and neither is the Renault. They were decent at the beginning of the year, but have fallen back since then.

Re: F1 2011 - Italian Grand Prix - MONZA

Vettel on pole again-Yawn!!!! followed by McLarens
Top 5 teams made Q3, Force India's di Resta and Sutil finished 11th and 12th .046 secs apart.
di Resta missed 10th by .006 secs.
Force India generally have a better race pace, so hopefully some more points may be on the cards tomorrow. Wishing them good luck.

Over half a second separates Vettel from the rest...the man is on another planet at the moment! Even Webber has not gotten anywhere close to him with the same set of wheels. Hamilton might fancy his chances if he can get a decent start, but otherwise the Vettel express is just going to march on.

Expect Ferrari to take a few chances on sunday to get Alonso on the podium at their home race..

If Redbull can be so fast in Monza, then Mclaren & Ferrrai can stop wasting their time on developing their cars any further this season. I believe Ferrari has already started using its complete resource for 2010 car from start of September.

Oh boy, WHAT a start! Wonderful wonderful overtake there by Alonso.

Guess 4 cars are out; safety car in the 1st lap itself.

Looks like an eventful race to come.

EDIT : 5 cars were out.

Vettel regains race lead. Webber out!

Whoa! Amazing battle for 2nd position. Hope to see MS on the podium.

What a scrap between Schumi and Lewis.I am sure Lewis will spell PETRONAS correctly even if asked in the dead of the night. With Button just breezing past Schumi,I am sure Lewis's blood pressure might have shot way too high.2 more laps behind and I am sure he will self destruct

Re: F1 2011 - Italian Grand Prix - MONZA

Top 5 places - 5 world championship winners. Interesting.

Schumacer provided all the entertainment in the first half, but the scraps through the field were excellent too. Unfortunately Star Sports has decided they'd rather show us advertising - they took 4 breaks in the first ten laps of the race. And though I'm in the ad industry, they've overdone it enough to spoil it for the fans.

And Steve is slowly losing his mind - announcing names correctly one lap, then getting it completely wrong the very next lap. He's going senile and it must be time for him to retire. Please get Alex or Karun in the booth. Steve has no clue and is too emotional to continue with commentary.

Am not going to watch next race onwards on Star for sure.

Re: F1 2011 - Italian Grand Prix - MONZA

The Schumi-Hamilton duel was the highlight of the race. Vettel, needless to say, galloped to victory. Not an ideal race for Ferrari, but at least they got their man on podium.

Webber has clearly gone backward this season. For someone who was fighting for the championship last year, he has not a single victory to show for this season.

Re: F1 2011 - Italian Grand Prix - MONZA

What a race?

MS was superb. But still his car is not best as an overall package. Once he get one the kids will learn few from him. I really love him gaining place on Lewis just after he overtook him. Excessive rear tyre wear and fuel consumption is the drawback of Mercedes.

Anyway Top 5 drivers were excellent!

Cheers!

A race of champions! The way vettel muscled past alonso to take the lead shows why he is a champion. Schumacher was really good in first half of the race and he made hamilton really work hard.
Looking at button's previous races it seems he gains places through the race perhaps because he is able to look after the tyres better. If he had a good start, he could have challenged vettel.

Re: F1 2011 - Italian Grand Prix - MONZA

Vettel needs to finish sixth or higher in remaining races to take the title. It is as good as locked up for him. Looks unlikely for anyone to overtake Red Bull now.
Force India continued to get one car in the points for the fourth race in a row, with di Resta finishing 8th. Sutil DNF, don't know why. The FI drivers have been taking points alternately. Force India are in sixth place, 1 point ahead of Sauber, neither of whose drivers finished.
In any case, 9 cars DNF in a single race might not be a record, but should be close.

An entertaining race. Start was real good, fight between Schumacher and Lewis was worth watching. I think Webber was very desperate and paid for it.
