Re: Chevy Sonic (Aveo) Hatchback/Sedan Unveiled!

A total letdown. If they need to keep up with Cruze and Beat then GM should launch 2012 Chevrolet Sonic (pic posted in the opening post http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/intern...ml#post2204016)

Cheers!

Chevy might not want to miss the sweet spot which Vento just grabbed from City. Sail=Dzire Sonic/Av Sedan=SX4,works?

Re: Chevy Sonic (Aveo) Hatchback/Sedan Unveiled!

Hi guys,

The new Sonic is about to be launched in Thailand tomorrow. I will be going to the dealer during the next week. Will check it out then. The hatch definitely resembles the Beat.

I believe it will be launched in India soon, since most the cars are launched in India once they enter the SE Asian markets. Looks like a promising car!!

The pricing in Thailand is between THB 548,000 (INR 969,700) ~ THB 687,000 (INR 1,215,355).

Here's the link to the Chevy website for Thailand. unfortunately they havent updated the english version yet.

We are getting the chinese cousins here in India called the Sail Twins. They are basically cheaper to make and are to be offered cheaper than the competition.
I saw a Sonic sedan in Dubai recently and i felt the styling is a bit too fussy for a car thats about the size of a Vento ! Its really not as beautiful as it looks in the pictures.

Re: Chevy Sonic (Aveo) Hatchback/Sedan Unveiled!

The styling and aspirational aspects of Sonic appeals more to Indian tastes than the budget built Sail. Sail looks outdated from the very first spy pics itself if not later.

Wonder who charts out the market plan for these multinationals because budget built cars like Logan, Etios etc., have never been popular with the masses due to their lack of appeal. They are successful in taxi market and reaps in numbers but not with individual private owners. Probably thats the reason technically inferior Maruti Dezire sells in such great numbers. The marketing heads of these companies continue to fail to understand the real reason.
