Nice pictures Ajmat. Brings back fond memories of the Bavarian Capital. I stayed at a walking distnace from the BMW welt.

The art cars seems to be new, it was not there when I visited the Welt last year.

Do take your time to visit Stuttgart and visit the Mercedes Welt. The BMW welt is nothing when compared to the Mercedes Welt. You can also see the Porsche museum there.

BMW Welt

I must confess that we popped in before the Museum and then popped back again but in a rush

BMW Welt is the fancy big area to showcase the latest cars. With the exception of the 6, 7, M cars and X6, you can walk in, kick tyres, play boss, twiddle the knobs of any car on display.

It is also used for Corporate events and for factory delivery.

Please refer to the Yeti's report on corporate events here (Bavarian Yeti® Works)

Near the UBahn entrance - the latest BMW model and a couple of bikes are parked

Soon to be released X1 over here, am a bit mixed over its looks and space. The new X3 - too much of a crowd around it, seems a better buy if you save hard!

Entrance from the museum. Tip, exit from Ubahn, enter BMW welt go to floor 2 and take this path

Refer Yeti blog on how this is lit at night

Some lucky bloke getting delivery and driving off to Berlin (judging from plates- in germany, the plates move with the owner!).

Folks from Europe and US have the option of taking delivery in Germany and driving home on export plates. The dealer will have pre-registered the car (no inspection etc ) so you either drive on export plates and carry the new plates with you. As for US folks, drive on export plates, enjoy Europe- hand back car and collect car from ealer when you are back home.

India requires car to be spanking new!

Below are BMW shops selling very expensive merchandise. The BMW bespoke programme where you can choose exact materials for your 6, 7 and M cars. Though people walk in a play around with the materials, I ownder how Mr Big will be able to select and choose undistrubed, am sure there are private rooms elsewhere

Sorry folks, at this points, I was suffering from trigger fatigue, need to have dinner and catch flight anxiety so I stopped clicking except for these

Keep all the time all you have, don't view on a limited time frame
Take the audio guide
If you have friends, colleagues and relatives around you, ignore them when they see you going weak kneed, drolling and absorbing everything

Roll on Stuttgart, Maranello, etc

A wonderful thread, brilliant photographs and a systematic tour of the place.

Sorry I know its an old thread, just putting a little information out there. The engines here in Post #14 are the inline six cylinder S54, the E46 M3 engine, not V8 or V10 as stated. The cylinders are banked and the thing on the other side is an air-box not another bank of cylinders. More specifically its the E46 M3 CSL engine, you can tell from the carbon-fibre airbox.

Cheers
