Exactly my thoughts. This is probably one of the worst Ferrari ever.

Got a chance to sit in the Ferrari FF :

- Rear seat space is tight! Clearly for kids. There isn't even enough place to put your feet under the front seats. Average adult in front + kid at the rear will survive okay.

- The design is barely eye catching and the shooting brake body style doesn't appeal to most of us. However, the FF will be more popular in europe. (Eg. 9 outta 10 cars on geneva streets are hatchbacks or estates!)

Re: Ferrari Four (4 Wheel Drive) launched: Pics on page 2

Am no Ferrari Expert by any Far stretch of imagination. I also agree that this is not the most ispiring Ferrari design by far. But, I am sure considering the platform et al, this could well be a precursor for better things to come.
I remember everyone screaming sacrilege when Porsche decided to enter the SUV space too. Rest as they say is history...

I remain convinced that Ferrari is missing the point with the FF. Won't the typical FF owner also have a sedan when he wants to travel with more than one passenger?

The Europeans value practicality very highly. But a practical Ferrari which:

- Isn't really practical (going by your observation of the rear seats)

- Does anyone really want a practical Ferrari?

I still do. And I don't think too much of the Panamera either (though can understand the business decision of either). But, atleast, the Cayenne does stuff that most other SUVs do (soft roading, sand dunes, can carry 5, now has a diesel). We could argue that, for a country like India, the Cayenne is the most practical Porsche. But I'm not getting what exactly Ferrari is trying to accomplish with the FF and, more importantly, how successfully they have met their objective.

And yes, Lamborghini completely owns Ferrari now, when it comes to good looking cars.

I reiterate - had F458 not been a Ferrari, it would have been shown the doors.

ABout the FF - In terms of design, even the Z3 M was better.

Even with respect to technology, Lambo is surely not behind. The LP-700 figures are very very extreme.

Well, being the 612 replacement, it is a Grand Tourer, so i bet there was plenty of market feedback from that segment saying they wanted to take their kids along for the weekend in the Ferrari. Clearly they didn't want to have to worry about rain or snow either - and hence the birth of Ferrari's first four wheel drive system too.

Perhaps that sounds as stupid as taking a 1100 hp car on a skiing vacation... but... there seems to be some demand for that too!

The Koenigsegg Agera R as shown at the show, with a ski box!!
Ferrari Four (4 Wheel Drive) launched: Pics on page 2-agerarsidethulelightning_header.jpg

Fact is, the 612 was only mildly appealing, and the FF sure has taken it one notch further down on the desirability scale, but its more a case of giving this select group of Ferrari GT customers what they want. A business decision. Those who still want the "true" Ferrari experience can get a 458, or even a 599 if they want that v12.

I'm no fan of the design, but its surely not ugly or hideous. Just a bit of a let down.

Re: Ferrari taken for a ride!

It’s the Ferrari that’s on top of the world! The Italian firm is preparing for next week’s press launch of the new V12 FF supercar. And as part of the launch programme, journalists from around the world will get to drive the FF on a specially made ice and snow track.

However, as the track is located at the top of Plan De Corones in the Dolomites at 2,350 metres, Ferrari had to call on the Italian air force to get two examples of its new four-wheel-drive supercar up to the summit.

The mountain is usually only accessible by skidoos or ski lifts, but the Ferraris made the trip in a CH-47 Chinook, with assistance from three other Augusta helicopters. Following their flight, the cars will be used at the summit over the next four weeks.

Re: Ferrari taken for a ride!

I'd seen this article before, and its quite nice that Ferrari is doing this to showcase the 4WD system. But since this resort isn't accessible by car, where are they going to fill up the cars? They surely can't carry that much high-octane fuel
