Ford recalls due to rust issues.

The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall.

Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan.

Ford at it again, recalls 7,150 newly built vehicles to repair child locks!

Ford Motor Co. plans to recall 7,150 vehicles built in November, including the 2013 Escape crossover, because some models are equipped with a defective child lock on the left rear door.
Also included in the recall are the 2013 Focus and C-Max cars, the automaker said today. The action marks Ford's fifth recall for the redesigned Escape since the vehicle's launch last year

Nissan recalls five 2013 models on passenger airbag concerns.
Nissan Motor Co. is recalling five 2013 model year vehicles, including top sellers Altima and Sentra, because the front passenger airbag may not deploy in a crash, the automaker told U.S. regulators.
The models in the recall are Nissan's Altima, Sentra, Pathfinder and Leaf as well as Infiniti JX35.

Honda recalls 250,000 vehicles for braking problems.

Honda Motor Co. is recalling nearly 250,000 vehicles globally, including some Acura MDX crossover SUVs, due to braking problems.
The stability assist system in the vehicles being recalled may malfunction and the brake could operate even when the driver is not pressing the pedal
Honda is recalling 183,576 vehicles in the United States, and around 57,000 vehicles in Japan. Cars in Canada, Mexico, Germany, Australia and New Zealand will also be recalled.

GM is recalling Buick, Caddy - 33,700 new vehicles to fix transmission software.

GM's 33,700 model-year 2013 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Cadillac SRX crossover vehicles globally to address a potential software problem that could increase the risk of a crash.

The problem may cause the transmission to unexpectedly slip from manual to automatic mode
The recall affects 26,582 vehicles in the United States, with the rest in Canada, Mexico, the Middle East and China.

The NHTSA is investigating 250,000 Mercedes Benz E-Class models (from 2003-2008 make) for potential fuel-tank leaks, on basis of 533 owner complaints of fuel leaks at the upper portion of the tank & strong gasoline odors after refueling their cars.

This investigation may or may not lead to a recall.

Nissan is recalling 18,880 NV vans to fix shifter cables that could cause the transmission to not engage park. This is peculiar to 2012-13 NV models have a shifter mounted on the steering-wheel column, which is susceptible to road vibrations and could knock the shifter cable out of position, whereby the call could roll away.

Chevrolet is recalling 48 Express CNGs (only 2011 models equipped with four CNG tanks), vans converted to run on compressed natural gas. A vent pipe, which normally expels excess gas pressure to the outside air, could instead expel the gas into the passenger compartment.

Ford and Nissan, at it again!

Ford is recalling certain2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire

Nissan has added the 2013 Titan to the list of vehicles recalled over potential gearshift issues. The pickups were built using certain chemicals that could cause the brake-shift interlock mechanism to fail over time. If that happens, the truck could be shifted out of Park without the driver's foot on the brake.
As a result, the truck could roll away and cause an accident or injury.

Subaru is recalling around 200,000 2005-2009 Legacy & Outback models for rusted brake lines that can rust & leak fluid resulting in reduced braking performance & increase in the distance needed to stop the car.

General Motors is recalling 144 Buick Encores for steering wheels that can loosen & detach while driving. This could cause the driver to lose control. The Encore is a brand-new compact crossover built in South Korea.
