Wow! so many beatiful rides. I love almost every one of them, especially the Volga V12, Aston Martins, Reventon. And one of my all time favourite, is now my car!

Citroen SM

Some more pictures of the beautiful lady.
The Citroen SM. Love child of two iconic marques - Citroen and Maserati, the SM is poetry- in aircraft grade aluminium and seventies chrome...
Those glorious lines wrap a 2.7 litre quad cam V6 powerplant within. Hydropneumatic self levelling suspension, and headlights that turn with the steering motion were some of the advanced features of this cross continental grand tourer.

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

very tough question to answer.
here are some front-runners in my book.

1953 Jaguar XK 120
1930's Lagonda - As driven by Captain Hastings in the Hercule Poirot TV Series.
1960's Aston Martin DB5 - As driven by 007 in Goldfinger.
1960's Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso - As owned by Steve Mcqueen and sold off in 2007.
1961 Alfa Romeo Giulia - As driven by Edward Fox in Day of the Jackal.
1960's Jag MK 2 - As driven by John Thaw in Inspector Morse

Its sad that era is over - it was the epitome of class, sophistication, understated elegance coupled with raw aggressive engine power and performance.

I prefer the DB4 to any other Aston, primarily for the reason that I've mentioned before - sense of timelessness.

For me if the appeal of a car is timelessness- as in a Shakespeare play, a Satyajit Ray film, or a Mozart violin concerto, or an Ali Akbar sarod recital!

My list remains the same in no particular order:

Aston Martin DB4
Aston Martin DB9
Jaguar Type E
Jaguar XJ ( William Lyons designed)
Marmon 16
Peerless V16
Voisin C25 Saloit
Alfa Romeo 8C 2900
McLaren MP 4-12C
Ferrari Daytona
Lamborghini Espada & Marzal
Maserato 3500 GT Frua
Maserati Ghibli
-----------------
plus
Citroen SM
Mercedes W 109 series
BMW 3.0 CS
Porsche 911 (1973)

I mentioned all of these in my previous posts.

I plan to start a separate thread each on the Ghibli and the SM. Request bhpians to provide inputs.

The format will be like this :
A. Design philosophy
B. Objective for production
C. Any cutting edge technology used
D. Production figures, sales figures,
E. Predecessor and successor models
F. Any owners in India
G. Pics

Come on bhpians!

Has the Lotus Espirit been posted yet? Can't find a suitably stunning pic of it at the moment. Ah well, I'm a sucker for Bond cars

Notice something. There is almost not even a single Modern car here. And the Lusso is getting repeated quite a few times..
