1964 Mazda R360 2-door coupe

Wow Karl, what a rare find in Panjim!
ID:269 is a 1964 Mazda R360 2-door coupe.

A vintage keijidōsha, it was made from 1960-1964 and had an air-cooled 356 cc V-2 OHV engine mounted in the rear, that developed 16 bhp.

Suspension was independent front and rear torsion type with twisting rubber rod-springs.

This car was the predecessor to the bigger watercooled Mazda Carol, I posted here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/286359-post426.html

Here's some more reading material !
Mazda R360 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wikipedia article says,
quote...
The R360 was Mazda's first real car - a two-door, two-seat coupe. Introduced in 1960, it featured a short 69 inch (1753 mm) wheelbase and weighed just 838 lb (380 kg). It was powered by a rear-mounted air-cooled 356cc V-twin engine putting out about 16 hp (12 kW) and 16 ft·lbf (22 Nm) of torque. The car was capable of about 52 mph (84 km/h). It had a 4-speed manual or two-speed automatic transmission. The suspension, front and rear, was rubber "springs" and torsion bars.

Within a few years of introducting the R360, Mazda had captured much of the lightweight (keicar) market in Japan. It was augmented by the Mazda P360 "Carol" 2+2 in 1962, as well as a convertible version in 1964. Production of the R360 lasted for six years.

So I guess I was wrong about 1960..1964. The R360 soldiered on in '65 and '66 too!

Ram Excellent job... This is one of the best responses in this thread.

I like your second image to prove your case. Good eye; excellent deduction.
I would not have even tried to solve that one. Good job again <pat on back>
