Correct - built till 1975 when company went under during the fuel crisis. Used Chrysler V8 lumps powered by a torqueflight 3 speed gearbox.

A version of the Interceptor - the FF was a pre-cursor to the Audi Quattro with 4 wheel drive and ABS although a crude version. It cost a bomb. Audi made it affordable..just

It is a 1968 Jensen Interceptor series 1.
The blue car in your picture with one column of louvres behind the front-wheel is a two-wheel drive version.

There was also an all-wheel-drive version called the FF (for Ferguson formula)
That had two columns of louvres behind the front-wheel.

The body was designed by Vignale: the Italian coachbuilder, and hand-built by Carrozzeria Touring.
It was an all-steel body bolted to a tubular chassis.
This big brawny British GT had a powerful Mopar engine: the 383 cid 6276 cc "Wedge", mated to a Torqueflite 3-speed automatic or 4-speed manual gearbox.

Its large, curving wrap-around rear window was hinged at the top to work as a tailgate.
(like the old Maruti 800!).

Luxuriously appointed, it had Connoly leather seats.

It had all wheel drive and a Dunlop Maxaret non-electronic ABS, what we'd find on an Indian Airlines Fokker F27 Friendship aircraft. Since thye 1957 Jensen 541, Jensens have had power-assisted disc brakes on all four wheels.
The 1968 Interceptor also had a power-lock limited-slip differential.

The Interceptor FF's 4x4 transfer case and front and rear prop shafts protruded into the left-hand passenger seat space. The steering gear and brake feedback-control system were fitted on the right-hand side.

So a left-hard drive version was impossible -- no cookie for the Americans! :-)

Through the filigree construction, together with the ultra light aluminum skin, the beautiful coupe has a very low total weight of only 650 kg.
Superb Sporty Lines

Engine

2 litre Heinkel six cylinder with sliding positioned crankshaft and three carburetors.
The Heinkel motor with roll-positioned, screwed Hirth crankshaft is a fine mechanical masterpiece. The valves are filled with natrium for imroved heat emission.

There are only a few automobile producers, which have a similar fascinating Aura as the VERITAS. he turbulent history of the label VERITAS ended with the official bankruptcy of Ernst Loof in 1953.
The still existing VERITAS vehicles and chassis were bought by the washing machine producer and former financial sponsor H.Bonn and the racing car driver Willi Sturzebecher.
Sturzebecher knew that VERITAS was ruined financially; The racing cars themselves were still better than the competition.
Sturzebecher drove races successfully for several years with his Meteor before he finally reitred from racing.
When in 1964 a wealthy American ordered at the Masterschool in Kaiserslautern a sporty light construction coupe, a VERITAS tubular frame was still the best basis for such an endeavour.
As the basis for the given coupe served one of three built VERITAS RS frames. The other two chassis were used for open racing cars.
The coupe has a unique, rear axle construction with telescopic spring elements developed by Loof.
This vehicle has a special axle construction. The road performance fantastic for that time.

Don't get me wrong, but our thread is not for prototypes, one-off cars, show-cars and kit cars. ref: 777, 778, 833

The aluminium bodied Veritas RS coupe you've shown is the world's only single one.
There were only three built chasses and the other two chasses were used for completely different open racing cars.

It would help to verify that the car to be posted was actually mass-produced(at least a dozen or so at the very minimum) and sold.

BTW, I'd love to see your white 1961 Dodge Dart 4-door sedan.

i couldnt agree more...and i have the perfect setting...feb 4th VCCCI rally at kala ghoda...am taking part in a friends 63 Fiat.

Now about ID 212:

ID 212 is a 1987 ZIMMER QUICKSILVER also a very rare car. Saw it during one of my visits in the US and back then Did'nt even know that a company called Zimmer existed.

Zimmer was a well-known van conversion company who in 1980 decided to produce a nostalgia coupe called the Golden Spirit. It used Ford running gear and that decade produced sales of 1,500. In 1986 GM designer Don Johnson penned the striking Quicksilver for the company, and while it was first shown that summer, it didn't start production until 1987. The car was based on the Pontiac Fiero so, unusually for a large coupe, it had its engine mid-mounted and handling was very good. The long nose was purely there for styling and was deceptive as there was no huge engine under it, though it did give incredible luggage space. The retro-styling also featured with the massive chrome fenders, as a nod to the glitzy cars like Lincolns and Cadillacs of the 1970s. The front suspension used wishbones, while the rear had struts, and discs front and rear uprated the braking. Only 180 fine examples were made.
