ID:740 is a 1964 Acadian Beaumont convertible - basically a Canadian equivalent of the Chevy Chevelle.

The somewhat unassuming ID:741

Here's ID:741 (which should be slightly more forgiving than my previous proposition):

(The front - being a bit of a giveaway - got appropriately cropped.)

Can a man get some 'guess the car' privacy without you joining just about every thread I participate in? Just kidding, of course. It's great to see you here! Needless to say, I'm looking forward to more challenges from you.

Obviously, we answered independently of one another because your post wasn't approved at the time I was typing mine.

A word of advice to the other members: do not post North American cars with this gentleman around - he's going to smoke every one of them within seconds! Well... I suppose you can try.

In crowded expanses everywhere, not the least of which is cyberspace,
we, who hail from one of this world's most proliferously abundant countries -- India, time and again, make this invariably regular and humbling discovery

-- No matter how great you consider your skill, knowledge, experience or strength, you will always find people more skilled, more knowledgeable , more experienced and stronger than you.
So be humble !

Close enough, CCC! ID:741 is - to the best of my recently acquired knowledge (some of the info comes from a couple of French enthusiasts) - a 1953 Panhard Scarlette which was based on the Rosengart Ariette. Apparently (according to 'Panhard & Levassor - Entre Tradition Et Modernité' published by ETAI in 2005) the exact amount of manufactured units was 208, including 3 convertibles.

The funny thing is, despite the crop I left a couple of serious clues in the provided picture: the car in the background with its unmistakable rear door lines and the equally unmistakable Panhard hubcaps on the mystery car itself. I don't know whether those clues helped you with the identification but you did a good job nonetheless - the Scarlette definitely qualifies as a 'forgotten' model.

Well, what can I say! Panhard crossed my mind a couple of times(considering the hubcaps),but I blew that idea away!
I was convinced it was some forgotten Wartburg/Lloyd/Borgward/Hansa. Obviously my search yielded nothing convincing,so I gave up!
Nice one there DoubleMac..

Did you spot the Dyna in the background? Always try to look for clues in the surroundings. CCC once posted a unique BMW sedan utilizing parts from a 503 and it just so happened that a 503 was parked right next to it so it made it into the reflection in the side of the mystery car. That obviously reinforced my conviction that the car in question could be related to BMW in some way.

Can't blame you for saying that as the Scarlette does remind me of the Lloyd Alexander more than a little. Then again, it's also similar to the related Rosengart Ariette (already introduced in this thread in its convertible incarnation ages ago) and the front chrome panel is a common trademark of many Panhard models of the era. Take a look at this sympathetic 1953 Dyna Junior Coupé by Pichon-Parat for example:

And compare it to the Scarlette in all its unedited glory:

Hmm.ID 742(by CCC) appears to be some modern retro roadster, judging by the high mounted third stop lamp, the rear view mirrors and the door handle!
