Dont think so its a Jowett Jupiter mate. It looks like all the cars that have been mentioned in the above two posts. The styling cues are definately based on the Bristol and the BMW. Little things that set it apart are the placement of the high lamps and the fogs, dual front grilles etc etc.

I think that ID:694 is a Paramount Cars product manufactured between 1950-56. Let's call it a 1950 Paramount Roadster then. Take a look at this ad for reference.

I've found the original picture and it seems to date the model as a 1956, but if that, in turn, is a depiction of a later Paramount, then I'd be tempted to speculate that the car up for guessing is in fact earlier than that. In my opinion the original design would've seemed terribly dated in 1956. Then again, there probably was a reason the company never went far - apart from all the derivative styling aspects, of course.

Great one Karlji.

You solved it Doublemac. I was contemplating an off shoot of the Austin A 90

It is indeed a Paramount, most likely a Paramount SXM 269. Great work buddy

The red one appears to be a later model and the one below seems identical to the one posted. Mid 50s id say too

Thanks! I was contemplating self-mutilation myself. Funnily enough, the car in the 2nd link I provided in the previous post actually is an Austin A90, if I'm not mistaken. (That was really dumb of me.)

So it even has a (more or less) proper name? Good.

If you take a look at the Paramount Cars Wiki page, the models in the photos definitely look 1956 whereas the 1950 model in the ad I posted is strikingly similar to the puzzle picture. I'm not arguing though - frankly, I can only speculate.

Well done gentlemen, the car I posted is indeed a Paramount Roadster/Sports Tourer (?).

I hunted for more on the subject unsuccessfully, based on this brochure scan that I had.

Absolutely right DoubleMac,its a Tzen sports car on 1970.
TZEN is the brand name used for the cars built by Antonis Tzen, a Greek engineer, racing driver and car collector. His first creation was announced in 1963; it was an elegant sports car designed by Greek architect P. Varouhakis, constructed on a modified Volkswagen chassis and with a SAAB engine. Plans for its industrial production did not materialize. From 1968 Tzen transformed a small number of SAAB and Fiat models into cabriolet, while in 1970 he attempted to produce another sports car. As before, he faced the extremely difficult task of receiving type certification for production in Greece. To "bypass" that, he was building the car on existing Volkswagen chassis. A small number (10 according to Tzen) was produced.

ID:695 is 65-66 Hopestar On360.. i think it was here earlier...

I would also like to add that the photograph was taken in Athens in 1973 by the car's creator himself (info) and, frankly, it's the only picture of the car I've managed to find. By the way, the Tzen appears quite similar to a certain rare Brazilian model whose identity I won't disclose for fear it might be featured in this thread some day.

This one is exclusively for sidindica:

Can you guess this car? The picture contains a view of the panel gap between the front and the rear doors.

To be honest, there were quite a few 'cropjobs' accompanying the inception of this thread so while the concept itself does not seem overly subversive to me, the idea is to present a readily recognizable part of a vehicle whereas the picture provided by sidindica feels intimidatingly generic. Personally, I don't mind such an approach at all (as I've been taking part in a similar thread - based on identifying models on the basis of edited pics - elsewhere) but I respect what seems to be the accepted tradition.

I am, however, curious about the reasons behind the opposition against introducing kit cars. Frankly, I think that a lot of those designs (Trident Venturer, Tornado Talisman, Kelmark GT) are unique enough to deserve a little fame on these pages. Perhaps it would help (although that would eliminate half the fun) if the poster introduced a kit car's status right away? That being said, I'm more interested in identifying entries rather than posting them anyway.

ID:695 Right you are, agspins.

I did a word search for Hopestar before posting this image.

Cheers,
