ID 689 is a FAW (First Automobile Works) Hongqi CA770 Presidential Limousine. I dont have the exact specifications, but its in excess of 6 mtrs long, and is powered by a V12 engine.

As per ChinaCarTimes.com the cars measure 6.4 m length, 2.05 meters width and are 1.72 m high. Power is delivered by a V12 engine. The cars were considered state secrets during their development and were all hand made by First Automobile Works (FAW) in Changchun.

The car is rumored to be built on a Lincoln platform.

FAW uses the brand Hong Qi for state limousines "provided" to Chinese government departments.

FAW has a partnership with Audi and also produces copies of the Audi 80, 100 and 200 under the Hong Qi brand.

Two of these cars were in the Chinese celebration motorcade. One carrying Chinese President Hu Jintao and the other Lt. General Fang Fenghui.

^^^ thank you very much Ram Sir and predatorwheelz for the insight. It looked so graceful while plying on that parade. Why can't the people at HM think of something like this. The design is so similar. But the car used by the president and the image posted by you have some differences. The bumper looks lot better and turn signal is so rightfully placed.

@ wasif: I had initially thought it was a DeSoto as well but then I came across this.

ID:690 is... one tough pig to nail down, I have to admit. I've given up trying to track this one down and at this moment I'm simply curious about its identity.
