Made between 1971-1977 by Motor enthusiast and former French Rugby Player Guy Ligier.
He named the car after his late friend and co driver Jo Schlesser who died during a race in the French Grand Prix.
Only a few hundred were made, approx 150 odd.
He first drove the cars himself and then started building race cars for Formula-I and then later electric cars.
Initially the cars had a V-6 Ford engine which was later replaced by a Citroen-Maserati V-6.
