Ka convertible is not a model name. ID:484 is a Ford StreetKa.
And car was already identified hours ago.

But friends what about ID:483, the big red and white car with a trunk latch in the middle of the number plate?

, the rear of the car presents design elements unique to the manufacturer. Posting the front pic would make it web searchable, so literally give the game away.

OK. Here!

@ram:

Just attempting:
Is the car a Buick ? The vertical bars led me to this guess.
Initially I thought that it is from Austin ( BMC ).

Ram, ID:483 has me stumped.
Looks very Borgward/Hansa/Lloyd-ish shape with a Nash/Frazer inspired grill. Hmmmm. Its a toughie. I know that rear latch in the number-plate from somewhere. Those protruding rear view mirrors are also very unique.
Ill have to dig out my old files to check. Good one.

The protruding rear view mirrors are retrofitted on cars, whilst towing a camper/caravan/trailer that is wider than themselves.

Regular mirrors will only show the front of the caravan.
The protruding mirrors are original mirrors mounted on extra long arms to cover the width of the trailed vehicle (in this case a camper caravan [what the Americans would call a "fifth wheel"])

Id:483

Will release details and close the question on 24th June 2008.

Until then where are you friends?
V-16, -GS-, islero, ajmat, awini, karlosdeville, 1100D, ... ?
Do attempt. It's easy for you.

ID:483 ... big red and ivory car with a trunk latch in the middle of the number plate? The long stalk mirrors are to cover for the camper she is towing. Don't you just love the ivory interior handles and art deco period theme?

Hope am not late for this. This has to be French! The Simcas, French Fords (Vedettes and Cometes), Panhards, Renaults, etc. had similar styling cues. But this one here ... she's a 1958-59 Renault Fregate Transfluide.

Bingo! Prabal, Well caught!

ID:483 is indeed a 1959 Renault Frégate Transfluide Berline.

Presented to the press at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris very late in 1950.
Officially launched at the Salon de l'auto 1951. Deliveries began in Nov. 1951.

She had a front engine rear-wheel drive three-box Berline configuration.
All wheels were independently sprung, using trailing links at the rear.

Elegant fluid lines, but yet only a 1,996 cc 4-cylinder engine developing barely 60 bhp.

Despite that, carefully designed aerodynamics enabled her to attain 130 km/h and yet return 9 km/litre.

The car was originally designed as a two litre sedan to compete against the Citroën Traction.

French buyers complained about the lack of power from the 1,996 cc engine, so Renault introduced a new 2,141 cc Etendard engine in 1956, which produced 77 hp and let the car attain 145 km/h.

Drawing inspiration from American lines, the Renault Frégate was one of the most beautiful cars of her time.

This 1959 Renault Frégate Transfluide had a three-speed semi automatic.
These cars were built until 1960.

This was the last front engined, rear driven Renault ever made.

Good show, Prabal!
