ID:460 Looks like the stalwarts aren't back from vacation ... else I'm sure this one would have been sussed out in a jiffy.

It took a little bit longer for this newbie. It think I have it.

However, this one really had me fooled.

I waded through Aston Martin and Bristol - since I was dead sure it was one of these. But it isn't.

Then AC and Cunningham caught my fancy - but neither fits the bill.

The egg-crate grille took me to Ferrari. When looking at old Ferraris, the 166s lines caught my attention.

This turns out to be a custom bodied Ferrari 166. Most likely an early '50s
Ferrari 166 Inter Touring Coupe - from it's oblong front marker lights. All other special bodied 166s seems to have round front marker lamps.

Thanks for the cool head-scratcher V-16 !
Cheers,

Well done Fourwheeldrift ID:460 is indeed a Ferrari. A 1948 Ferrari inter 166-2 to be precise. I was positive the grille would give it away just as it did. Its not a custom bodied car though. I think its beautiful.

Well buddy is it a regular production car or a one off. If its the latter then it does not belong on this thread. Kindly read the rules so that you don't waste your time on wrong stuff. Appreciate the info though. Hadnt heard of this car as yet.

Good job moralfibre.

ID:462 is a Tatra T97 ... and yes, it's designs were "inspiration" for Ferdinand Porsche when he conceived the VW Beetle.

Cheers,
