Wow thanks for bringing this up Sidindica. It is surely an amazing car. Wow, when I thought the coupe r8 couldn't look any better, audi surprises us with this masterpiece.

Looks like everyone's into bringing out the convertible versions, a la Lexus IS250 & the Infiniti G37s that were released few weeks ago.
None-the-less, this one should be a real sharp looking top-drop machine!!

I'm not so sure about the rear end in convertible guise. Front and side would surely look awesome though.

That is just beautifull!!!! The rear end looks like a Lambo when you first look at it!!

Looks very good in white. Yes the rear looks pretty similar to lambo.
But somehow the coupe version feels a bit more appealing to me.

audi is on a roll. does it have a winner in hand? i guess so. Expect california to embrace it first. curious about the huge posters on the passenger seat of the car (in the pix found on that link).anybody got answers?

Audi R8 Spider Photos Leak Online Ahead of Frankfurt Show - Carscoop

This is the long anticipated Audi R8 Spider, and these first pictures have made their way online ahead of the supercar's official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week. Contrary to initial reports, the R8 Spider does not get a removable targa panel, but a traditional folding top that tucks away behind the passenger compartment.

Other cosmetic changes over the coupe model include the redesigned engine cover at the back with twin speedster humps that incorporate newly styled air-vents as well as the elimination of the so-called 'sideblades'.

Mechanical details are still scant but it has been reported that the Spider will be launched initially with the range-topping 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 525 horsepower and 530 Nm (390.91 lb-ft) of torque.

All the spideys end up looking the same dont they. Nothing really special about the R8 spider.

Not impressive, alloys could've been more attractive, color looks like some sort of an unfinished rendition. Wonder what would it look like with roof-up and the silverish tone on the windscreen moulding.
