looks great imho, though the roofline is quite low. the rear is a bit unappealing to me.

finally s-class, 7 series, a8 has some competition after years of ignoring xj by people.

i would say, Jag is back with a bang.

your views are appreciated.

Following months of spy pictures, speculation, teasers (including videos) and very little official information, the Jaguar XJ will finally be unveiled tomorrow (Thursday, 9th of July 2009) during an exclusive event in London. That is when more intimate details and full images will be available. For now take a closer look at these leaked pictures.

The next XJ is promised to be the new class-leader in a segment led by the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as well as the Audi A8 and the Lexus LS. Jaguar seeks to reclaim its spot alongside these luminaries after years of being sidelined by both buyers and the motoring media.

Jaguar is using aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture for the first time in a car with the XJ. The technology is next-generation stuff and is likely to filter down into other next-generation Jaguars.

Powerful engines will match or even outperform some of its competitors. Here we can mention engines like the new 275hp (202kW), 600Nm 3.0-litre twin turbo diesel and the 5.0-litre V8 with natural aspiration. A supercharged XJR might use the engine that makes 510hp (380kW) in the XFR/ XKR but have its power upped to keep up with the BMW 760i and the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG. Of course this is just pure speculation at this point in time.

Prospective customers will be able to register their orders after 19:30 GMT on Thursday. First deliveries are to take place in early 2010.

Beauty. Looks awesome and does great justice to the badge.

wow! that looks stunning.

The rear end looks like a car I've seen before though. I think it was a Lancia concept at some autoshow, but taking nothing away from this car, I would love to see one on Indian roads in the near future :)

The car looks gorgeous, looks a bit maserati'sh. This surely an S class and 7 series killer.

Absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful cars in recent times. The flow of that C pillar looks amazing. S Class and 7 Series killer? Why not? Cant wait to see this on our shores. This car might just change Jaguar's fortunes around.

Now that is something original.Kudos to Jaguar for coming up with such a beautiful design.

Beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Looks completely original. Have always liked the Jag's designs. Would definitely love to see these beauties on our roads.

@ chevelle : agree: ,Jag is back with a BANG!!

That looks stunning! When will they launch it in India?

Love the headlights design. They look like winking ;)

hmmm,no doubts the car is a killer, like other jaguars, but I just think that the roofline is just too low at the back and wonder if the rear passengers will have enough head room given that most people who buy a car in this segment spend their time at the back seat. The rear gave me an impression of bentley somehow but thats only my opinion.

A blacked-out C pillar - now that is something that I havent seen too often.
Does anybody think the rear over-hang is excessive or is it just me. I think the rear lights dont help either since they dont intrude into the rear fender.
But I loved the overall design - distinct, contemporary. I just adore that grille.

Looks very good. I liked everything other than the tail lights.

beautiful design, front design is outstanding
when are they planning to bring it in India?

A whole new different look, it does look quite refreshing and +1 to Dippy's view on the stunning flow of the C pillar.
