The future of internal combustion

There are two major advancements in engine technology that are about to be mass produced. The first one, MCE-5 features variable compression ratio and kinetic crankshaft & piston rods allowing up to 12,000 rpm and diesel like torque out of a 1.5 liter four cylinder. The second by Scuderi features compression ratio's beyond 100:1 by utilizing internal supercharging and is capable of performance beyond belief from very small engines.

2.Scuderi Air Hybrid Engine

What do you think about these new engine types?
My opinion: I am very excited about it, and can't wait to see what they for the performance scene. Good job MCE-5 and Scuderi! I'm really impressed by the piston to crank gearing, but I wonder if it will wear down. I'm also very impressed with compression ratio's over 100:1! Just like all engines, each design has flaws and wear zones. They state it's maximized for efficiency so I would expect that implies minimal wear and tear. We'll see! I am very impressed by these advancements, good job Scuderi and MCE-5!
