I thought I saw the altis there for a sec
What lame management when every generation of the sonata is a copy. Like seriously, it's like a local garage taking merc-accord-altis-audi parts and making this.
NOTHING can be made out of the pics, so why all this conjecture? For all you know it could be just a mule.
if its the kizakshi is it coming to india?

Accord beater is a far stretch of Imagination. In that segment people just refuse to be associated with the Hyundai badge. Case in point is the current sonata. Hyundai probably needs to go step by step i.e, come up with a good car in the C+ segment (Corolla/Civic competitor). Once the customers accept Hyundai in that segment, then Hyundai can think of going to next segment.
However capable/beautiful the new sonata may be (not very clear from spy pics), IMO it will not even be half as popular as the Accord from the mighty 'H' brand |
Well, just to raise a counter point, there was a time when the sonata was outselling the accord 2 to 1, in India.
Holy cow, the new Sonata seems H-U-G-E! Not surprising when you consider the barge like dimensions of the latest Accord.

In the largest market for the Accord - The USA - Hyundai is giving a pretty tough fight to Honda. In fact, the value proposition of the Sonata is credited with keeping Camcord prices in check. The Sonata has been steadily carving into the Accords market; in recent times matching as much as 40% of the Accords numbers.
Get this : Even Consumer Reports ranked the Hyundai Sonata amongst its best buys in 2008. Hyundai USA sells the Sonata for only $20,000 odd, with a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, and a 10 year on the engine / tranny.
It is Hyundai India that has proven itself incompetent with managing the pricing, market positioning or image of the Sonata.

Unfortunate indeed. The rear end of the current Sonata is such an embarassingly identical copy of the last gen Accord. C'mon Hyundai, about time the Sonata creates its own identity!
The Alloy Wheels look straight out of the SX4. But the interior quality do not suggest a Suzuki
The styling looks sharp and a departure from the current model.Always liked the sonata.Too early to say whetehr it will beat an accord or not.
first pic of uncovered sonata, poor quality
Front (especially head lights) looks like a real sports car.
Oh it looks terrific and looks soo bold.interiors are also nice and very different from what hyundai has now,I liked the passenger side console too.
ram
Interiors look nice and swoopy!! Now Hyundai's trying to be bold with thier designs.Which is good. And only way to make people notice your product.
nice designs, hope this will be a head turner and will be launched in India soon. Will give good competition to Honda Accord.

Is this a Accord beater or Accord copier?
As I have never seen any D-segment car from Hyundai, which is a clean design of their own. They always copy from others.
