Jetta Autobot

This old Jetta was converted to an autobot for promotional purposes. It was used to promote the opening of a new IMAX here in China.
Pictures are from a Chinese Website.

Chinese auto exports down 58%, overtaken by Indian exports- FROM A CHINESE DAILY

According to a CCTV report earlier this morning, Chinese automotive exports currently stand at 3% of the worlds total, and exports are down 58% this year, making China a big consumer but a small exported. Whilst China certainly does have the potential to become a world player in the automotive parts and full car production, it currently lacks the ability to market its domestic car brands overseas, which is hurting its export figures.
Apparently the Ministry of Commerce is working on a plan to increase exports and raise quality, by guiding auto makers and parts producers into setting up overseas sales networks, increasing after sales service and altering business structure to deal with overseas sales.
In the meantime, India has surged ahead in terms of full vehicle exports. India’s Maruti-Suzuki export vehicles doubled this year to just shy of 80,000 vehicles, and plans to ship 130,000 by March 2010. Maruti-Suzuki sold nearly 15,000 vehicles overseas in August alone, and all Indian automotive companies sold an impressive 229,8009 vehicles overseas this year to over 100 countries.
In comparison, China’s export sales are down 60% to a mere 164,800 vehicles exported from January to July 2009.

Olympic Special Audi A6L up for sale

The Chinese Replicas Thread-888audia6l.jpg
Beijing are selling off their lovely collection of Olympic Audi A6L – L standing for Long, or Lengthened edition. The A6L’s were used primarily by high up Olympic officials during the Olympic period, and now that the Olympics and the Paralympics are over, Beijing are keen to rid themselves of a few cars.
The cars, which total 888, are all 2.0 Turbo models, were used to escort state dignitaries, high up Olympic officials, Chinese state leaders, as well as foreign leaders and ambassadors. Potential buyers need not worry about dings in the metal work, or cigarette burns in the seats, as the fleet of Audi's were looked after by 140 technicians during the games, and were inspected night and day by a committee of inspectors to make sure the cars were up to scratch for collecting VIP’s, and most of the cars have around 2,000km on the clock.
The original sales price of the Olympic Audi A6l 2.0l Turbo is 398,000 RMB i.e roughly 28 lakhs.
