Gurkha from Terradyne Armored Vehicles Inc.

And you thought ‘Gurkha’ was our Force motor’s pet SUV/MUV. (At least I thought so…)

Gurkha soldier, Force Gurkha, may a restaurant, were the only ‘Gurkha’ I knew till a while ago.

It turns out that, Gurkha is also an armored vehicle manufactured by a Canadian firm, Terradyne Armored Vehicles Inc; a tactical vehicle to be precise. Available in 3 configurations LAPV, MPV & RPV.

RPV is dubbed as the civilian edition. 6.7L V8 turbo diesel engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 660 foot-pounds of torque… yeah, very civilian.
Considering its armor plating, which is rated to stop 7.62mm armor piercing rounds, one shouldn’t be too surprised. It is real heavy, needs a powerful motor to lug it around.

RPV

Check out their presence in the contact us page. They have agents in Bangladesh, Colombia, Libya and Pakistan among other nations. Interesting market!

On a different note, all these armored carriers look more or less the same isn't it? Be it the Indian ones from Mahindra or these from Canada or the Knight XV, they all have a very similar looking front.

Note: Not hijacking Knight XV's thread, didn't want to create a separate one for each armored vehicle.
