Ferrari F149

With the debut of the Ferrari 149 GT California (or something like that) just around the corner, new shots of the Ferrari mule have surfaced at Autogespot, revealing a few more details about the entry-level Fezza. Unlike some spy pics we've seen that obscure everything from the B-pillar back, these newest images show a steeply raked rear windscreen that terminates into an artificially elongated trunk, rumored to house a folding hard top. The front clip is sporting a large radiator intake and the hood stretches back in true Ferrari style. As reported before, Project F149 is rumored to be powered by a 4.7-liter V8 producing 480 to 500 hp. More details are expected soon. We're standing by.

Believe me, when I first looked at the pics I thought these were belated spy-shots of the Skyline-GTR.

If there's a folding hardtop in there, the F430 spyder will surely lose some mega business, eh?

F430 successor?!

Looking at the tech-specs it seems to be a successor to the F430...the guys at Ferrari won't be so dumb as to create competition for their current cash cow or should I say cash horse, the F430.
If I am not mistaken, then probably this might be to the F430, what the LP560 is to the Gallardo.

I agree. But is it just me or anyone else notice the body roll in the third pic?

New Ferrari F149

HI guys
this is the new ferrari. its called F149 or Ferrari california gt.
this car has a convertible hard top, front engined V8 likely from maserati gran turismo and a dual clutch gear box. all these are first from ferrari.

Like other modern Ferraris this one is fabricated from Aluminum to keep mass under control. The 460hp 4.3L V-8 is the first from Maranello to use direct injection while following the racing tradition of using a flat-plane crank shaft. the 7-speed unit is mounted in a rear transaxle configuration and should provide smoother shifting and even better performance than the existing hydraulically actuated units that Ferrari uses. Acceleration to 60mph should come in under 4.0 seconds.
it will be officially revealed at the paris auto show.http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images...s/Clapping.gif

i think it will give some run for the AM V8

Ugh....this design is a majestic leap backwards! What's wrong with Ferrari?! They put an end to their classic lines by introducing the 360.
Now what's with these ugly GTs?! First the 612 Scag, then the 599 GTB and now this!

Thats an awesome machine and a peek under the hood would make it a double whammy. Would like to see its header setup (if am not wrong does a V-8 have a header setup of 8 pipes, correct me if am wrong.)

Front looks good the rear looks wierd. The side profile reminds me of the 550 Maranello. It may not look good now but opinions change once you see the car in the flesh. Happened to me in the case of the 599 GTB.
