Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has confirmed that the Urus will remain the sole SUV in the model portfolio.

Lamborghini Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Federico Foschini said the Urus had been instrumental in attracting new customers and driving year-on-year growth. Despite that, he ruled out a larger or smaller SUV, saying that it would not align with the Raging Bull’s DNA.

“When it comes to the choice of another body type or another kind of Urus, we have done this kind of analysis, especially before choosing the fourth model BEV [battery electric vehicle] that we want to launch around 2030, which will be a GT 2+2,” Foschini said.

“But when it comes to the larger SUV, it cannot be as sporty as an SUV. It's too easy for it to be too big. It’s not a Lamborghini,” he said. He added that SUVs align better with other brands from the VW Group.

Foschini described the Urus as the ideal blend of practicality and performance, balancing space and usability with supercar-like dynamics.

“The Urus is the perfect fit, on one side has the right size to be an SUV because there is space for four or five people comfortably with also the luggage [capacity] of an SUV,” he said.

“But on the other side, there’s the dimension and the driving dynamic and the driving experience of a super sports car. This is the size and this is the sweet spot.”

“When it comes to the fourth one, we decided that the best segment to scout was the GT 2+2 because it’s where we are not,” Foschini explained.

“We can still do a sporty car, maybe more lifestyle, but also here we have to execute in a way that it’s an unexpected and extraordinary type of design and is fitting with our DNA in terms of performance and driving fun.”

Lamborghini ended 2024 on a very strong note in terms of growth. The brand sold 10,687 cars globally.

Lamborghini’s current model portfolio includes the Revuelto, Temerario and Urus SE plug-in hybrids.

Is it just me who feels a bit of a pinch that the Lambo Urus shares parts with Audi, I saw a video on youtube which showed the common parts in RSQ8 and Urus,
If I owned one, I would be concerned, plus the Urus would have been distinct and acceptable with a V10 instead of a V8, its a Lamborghini after all.
I could be wrong.

The new generation of URUS's (starting with URUS SE) hybrid powertrain (Plug-in) is shared with Bentley and Porsche. RSQ8 although a hybrid is not the same as URUS-SE. I have an SQ8 and have driven extensively the RSQ8 and I have put an order for the URUS-SE as well. Trust me, they are leagues different.

By sharing the platforms is how they are making these cheaper. Compare the price of Temarario (V8 + hybrid or shared) to that of Ravuelto (V12 + hybrid)
