Aston Martin has taken the wraps off the new Vanquish Volante, the carmaker’s flagship drop-top GT.
The Vanquish Volante gets a K-style fabric roof that can be opened in 14 seconds and closed in 16 seconds at speeds up to 50 kph via a metal switch on the centre console. The roof can also be opened or closed via the key fob, within a two-metre radius of the car. It gets thermal insulation directly compared to the Coupe version.
Underpinning the chassis and dynamic systems lies a bonded aluminium structure. Enhanced to deliver more focused and engaging dynamics, optimised underbody stiffening provides a 75% increase in lateral stiffness, maintaining structural performance closely matched to the Coupe.
The Vanquish Volante features a bespoke suspension tune designed to account for the unique weight distribution. It gets new Bilstein dampers which allow outstanding levels of wheel control within each drive mode.
The Volante gets the option of a titanium exhaust system that is 10.5 kg lighter than the conventional stainless steel unit.
Power comes from a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that develops 824 BHP and 1000 Nm of torque. An 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox sends power to the rear wheels. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 345 kph. The car gets three drive modes: GT, Sport and Sport+.
On the inside, the Vanquish Volante gets twin 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system respectively. It also gets a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system that is expertly tuned for the car. Sport Plus seats are standard, while carbon fibre performance seats are offered as an option. The Q by Aston Martin division offers bespoke customization options for customers as well.
The Vanquish Volante is now available for order and will be produced in limited numbers. Deliveries begin Q3 2025.
