Suzuki launches the Jimny Nomade 4wd SUV in Japan.



It is available in one grade only for the FC, and the price is 2,651,000 yen for the 5-speed MT model and 2,750,000 yen for the 4-speed AT model.

Suzuki Motor Corporation will launch the All-New Jimny Nomade on 3 April 2025 in Japan. This is the first five-door model in the Jimny, a series which features the functions and driving performance of full-fledged four-wheel drive vehicles.

The new Jimny Nomade is a model based on the concept of “a five-door compact cross-country 4x4 with authentic rough-road driving ability.” While maintaining the rough-road driving ability that is the most attractive feature of the Jimny series, it has realized enhanced access and comfortable seats for four adults by adopting rear doors and extending the wheelbase.

The styling design features a five-slot front grille, which is the symbol of Jimny, decorated with gun-metallic paint and a plated frame to express a sense of quality. In addition, it comes with a lineup of six colors, including new colors for the Jimny series such as Sizzling Red Metallic, which has a vivid pearl red texture and gives an energetic and active impression, and Celestial Blue Pearl Metallic, which gives a feeling of high quality.

Its a brilliant name. Nomade.
Over time, it will become as iconic as Gypsy.

I just read this today, and for me there was an instantaneous connection and resonance with that name.

Sigh. wish we got the Chiffon Ivory Metallic (beige) in India.

IMO, the best colour to suit the car (with steel wheels).

Wish they'd supply this colour via Nexa as well (I checked, they don't )

The article says it is Japanese for Nomad. But there is a contrary piece of info as per Google.

Yubukomin is the Japanese word for Nomad.
And ‘Nomade’ - means ‘until’ in Japanese - as per Google Baba.

Im not able to make sense of this.

But the name Nomad is as good as Gypsy. It definitely resonates. There is something visceral and primeval about names like these. Maybe some atavistic or genetic memory from the deep recesses of the past are being triggered in my head.

My son was in Japan few weeks back and sent me the photo he took from a restaurant of a 3 door version Jimny. The olive green colour looks great for a Jimny. But I think this colour is reserved for army in India and not allowed for personal use.

According to the reports that I found online, the export Jimny seems to get the following in addition to the Indian one:

1. Heated Front Seats
2. Heated ORVMs with integrated indicators
3. Blind spot mirror (a tiny one below the ORVM)
4. Level 2 ADAS
5. A different Infotainment system (looks aftermarket-ish)

I love the Ivory colour and wonder why Maruti restricts the choices for India? This car will look amazing is so many other colours too!!

New Suzuki Jimny option takes inspiration from latest Toyota Prado.

The five-door Suzuki Jimny has just gone on sale in Japan with an optional extra in the boot that will look familiar to new Land Cruiser Prado owners.

unlike the Sierra, when it is folded forward, there is a step of about 10 cm from the luggage floor. In order to solve this problem, a box that raises the floor level is available as a dealer option (29,700 yen).

The five-door's rear seats do not fold flat with the cargo area floor, so to prevent a 'step' that longer items must be lifted over. Suzuki Japan will offer a 10cm-tall box as a dealer accessory that raises the boot area by 10cm to match the folded seatbacks.

The Jimny option is priced from 29,700 yen ($AU310) in Japan, above the 2,651,000 yen ($AU27,160) base price of the car with a manual transmission.

The heated front seats and ORVMs are a given. Even cars sold in India have the the blank slot for the heated seats controls. Am surprised they didn't also give a foldable armrest for the driver.

Have noticed it. Can understand no music systems in the base variants old in japan. But even the infotainment system in Japanese cars are horribly old and aftermarketish compard to the equivalent model sold in India.

Suzuki has officially announced that it will no longer take orders for the Jimny Nomade. The number of orders is about 50,000 units.

The Jimny 5-door model "Nomade" was announced on January 30, 2025. It was inevitable that it would become a very popular model, but at 15:45 on February 3, Suzuki officially announced that it would stop taking orders.

If the story is true that “Jimny” was a misspelt version of “Jimmy” then it is only fit and proper that “Nomad” be spelt as “Nomade”
