Dodge to sell its Charger Daytona EV internationally; World's first electric muscle car

Dodge unveiled the 'world's first electric muscle car' - the Charger Daytona EV, in North America last year. Now, the carmaker has confirmed that the electric Charger will be launched across several overseas markets as well.

As per reports, Stellantis Group, which owns the Dodge brand, will sell the Charger Daytona EV in global markets sometime in mid-2025. The automotive conglomerate confirmed the electric Charger will be available in the Middle East and European markets in the second half of 2025. Reports also state that all variations of the Charger could be made available in international markets. These include the two and four-door body styles, available in both ICE and EV powertrains.

The Dodge Charger Daytona EV is offered in two configurations - a dual-electric motor base model producing 456 BHP and 547 Nm and a Scat Pack variant producing 630 BHP and 839 Nm. The Daytona EV Scat Pack allows the muscle car to sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Prices for the Charger Daytona EV start from $59,995 for the base variant and go up to $73,190 for the Scat Pack in the North American market.

Re: Dodge to sell its Charger Daytona EV internationally; World's first electric muscle car

Love the new Charger Daytona ‘Saving the Planet’ ad.

When you hear that title, you might think that this commercial for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona talks about the green movement and the push for an emission-free world. As you watch the commercial, the first 25 seconds follow that line of thinking as well, talking about how Dodge is building the new electric Charger Daytona to save the planet and preserve a better future for our children.

However, the second half of the video takes a unique twist, explaining that the Dodge Charger Daytona isn’t saving the planet from global warming or climate change but rather, this new Charger is saving the world from “all those lame, soulless, self-driving sleep pods”. The rest of the video is packed with footage of the next generation Charger sliding around turns and blasting through tunnels, accompanied by the roar of the controversial Fratzonic “exhaust note”.

Most reviews unfortunately have not been favourable. I really hope they're able to sort out all the issues over time.

Seems like Dodge is in a bit a situation. The new Charger EV has just hit the market and is already going for discounts. Scary.

Maybe it's just me but the words "electric" and "muscle car" in the same statement seem very odd to me. EVs are the future (I admit grudgingly) and muscle cars are already something of a nostalgia. An electric muscle car falls right into the chasm between the two.

Waiting to see how Trump throws the spanner under the wheels of EVs !! Next 5 years would be very crucial for auto industry, time to sit on sidelines and see the drama unfold while grabbing some popcorn.

Yeah I don't think he'll do much against EVs. Ever since Elon Musk endorsed him, he's softened his stance on electric cars.
Although, he is expected to do away with EV tax credits but somehow that's said to be beneficial for Tesla.

Agree with the rest, the next 5 years will certainly be interesting.

I don’t trust this guy, specially as a politician, he’s as unpredictable as Musk. If you see his presidency speech he clearly said EVs as “green new scam” and also goes for “drill baby drill”. His Project25 doesn’t support electric cars. Parterning with musk is so oxymoronic and with conflicting ideologies. Plus his link with Middle East (read syphoning money) will always hinder his decisions.

That will eventually hurt Tesla only, people are cost centric before purchasing whether an ICE or EV, common person hardly cares about environment, his/her decisions are totally based on economic viability, unless there is an administration push with incentives (USA) or force (China). Tariffs would be another threat to the industry.

Sorry if it got digressed
