Japan: Honda Elevate (WR-V) modified by DAMD to look like Jeep Cherokee

Japanese tuner, DAMD, has revealed the 'WR-V Reverb' - a modified version of the India-built Honda Elevate SUV (sold in Japan as WR-V).

DAMD has modified the Elevate SUV entirely with a body kit inspired by the Jeep Cherokee. This includes a new front fascia with a six-slot grille and rectangular headlights. The DAMD WR-V Reverb also gets decals imitating the wood panelling seen on vintage American Station Wagons. The front bonnet is also boxier than that of the standard SUV. It has a rugged front bumper with faux aluminium accents and black steel wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich mud-terrain tyres. The interiors of the DAMD WR-V Reverb seem to remain mostly unchanged, albeit with the new chequered fabric upholstery and a few other minor details.

Mechanically, the DAMD WR-V Reverb remains identical to the standard Honda Elevate. It continues to be powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine with a CVT gearbox.

DAMD will showcase the new WR-V Reverb at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, alongside a few other new models. DAMD had previously revealed two modified versions of the Jimny inspired by the Renault 5 Turbo and the Lancia Delta Integrale.

It looks decent. I really like the fact that they used halogen headlights to make it look more authentic. That interior however just doesn’t sit well with me. Will this come to India?

Looks quite chunky, in a good way. The only thing ruining the cohesion is the high belt line, and the fact that the Elevate is not a 3 box, like the XJ used to be. Older cars had a far lower belt line than the cars of today, and rear windows you could actually see out of

From which angle is this supposed to look like a Cherokee? Did a 360 on my phone just to make sure I wasn't being obtuse- it looks more like an Ignis than a Jeep.

Looks horrible and certainly not to my taste at all. The C Pillar is so out of line with the front which is boxy. I hope this contraption does not make it to our shores. There are enough of weird and whacky mod jobs here.

This can definitely win an award under the "weird & wacky mods" category !!

Looks like the modified cars in our local garages, seat covers reminds me of my uncle's 90s Maruti-800 with velvet finish which was a super dust catcher.

As is Elevate has the looks of decade old design, with this mod, it just went further down.

Apart from the squared grille, nothing about this car resembles Jeep Cherokee. In fact, it looks like a Mandi Dabwali makeover.
