According to media reports, Lamborghini has confirmed that the brand is already working on the second-generation iteration of its Urus SUV. The new second-gen Lamborghini Urus is due to arrive sometime after 2026. Ahead of its arrival, the brand has revealed a few details of what to expect.

Federico Foschini, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer at Lamborghini, confirmed, stating, "We’re 10 years away from 2035, which is the year we should switch, but we can’t stay 10 years with the same car."



Reports also state that Lamborghini could continue to use technology and platforms borrowed from the wider VW Group for its next Urus. This likely also includes the V8 hybrid powertrain introduced on the recent Urus SE. Foschini, stated, "We would be stupid not to keep using something that’s at the top of its technology. For us, it’s an advantage until the moment that we are not able to make a car that’s at the top of its game."

Lamborghini could use modified versions of VW's future platforms destined for its other high-end products such as the Porsche Cayenne and Audi RSQ8. Foschini confirmed the same, stating, "We will keep on using the platform, as there’s continued innovation from the group that we are wanting to leverage."

Once the new-generation Lamborghini Urus arrives post-2026, it will join the brand's refreshed lineup, which consists of the Revuelto and Temerario - all three of which will feature hybrid-combustion engines. Lamborghini has also confirmed the arrival of its first all-electric product, the Lanzador GT in 2030.

If they retain the name, guess this would be the first time Lamborghini had a second generation of a nameplate.

Good of them to make the generational change as the Urus is a top seller and more of a mainstream car than their sports/supercars.
