Re: Review: The All-New Nissan Patrol (Y63) | Above the Ordinary - Part 1

Good to see the new Patrol! Just wanted to call out that the 4.8l engine in the Y61 is a straight 6 and not a V8

A few updates

1. Many points eg. Interiors, exterior, engine bay, 4WD, settings, ProPILOT system, Remote vehicle controls, have been detailed in Part2 (Review: The All-New Nissan Patrol (Y63) | Above the Ordinary - Part 2).
2. The first mandatory 1000km service is done; just an oil change
3. Only bug so far - the audio source plays from the last used source during the previous drive, and audio source menu doesn't display sometimes when the infotainment screen turns on. Turning the car off, getting out, walking away, coming back and turning on makes it work
4. Although not to be monitored for a vehicle this big, the car returned an average FE of 9.7kmpl on a highway trip when driven between 120 and 130kmph. The engine rpm was around the 1400-1500rpm mark at these speeds.

You have written a very detailed review. Kudos to you. Does the Y63 have a slightly raised driving position since the new patrol appears to be taller than the Y62?

On the side note, I saw the patrol in same color in Hatta on 16 November (number ending with 75, may be it was yours). It looks smashing and much more commanding than the outgoing patrol. Seems to have a bit of Defender look from the side as well.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new set of wheels! by jove B-i-g car there. Excellent review where you let the pictures do the talking instead of cluttering up the thread with long narratives. I love these reviews which are full of pictures. All the very best with many happy & safe miles.
