Volkswagen has unveiled a refreshed version of its Jetta sedan for the global markets.

The Volkswagen Jetta has been one of the best-selling models for the brand amidst a sea of growing SUVs in the lineup. The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta features a bunch of updates, both outside and inside, along with new features and technology.



Starting with the design, the 2025 Jetta gets a sleeker set of LED headlamps and a slimmer grille. The mid and top-spec trims also get a full LED light bar connecting the headlamp units. The sedan features revised front and rear bumpers, full-width LED tail lights and 17-inch alloys with 18-inch wheels on higher trims.



Inside, the new Volkswagen Jetta features an overhauled dashboard with a new 8.0-inch floating touchscreen display, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging and a capacitive touch setup to control the various functions on offer. The higher-spec trims get perforated Vienna leather seats with contrast stitching. In addition to this, the top-spec 'GLI' trim also gets IQ.Drive system as standard and driver-assistance features.



The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta carries forward the same engine as before. This is in the form of a 1.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine with 158 BHP and 250 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic as standard. The top-spec Jetta GLI, though, gets a 2.0-litre in-line 4-cylinder producing 228 BHP and 350 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GLI trim also gets adaptive dampers, sportier exhaust, bigger brakes and a limited-slip differential.

Prices for the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta start from $23,220. Deliveries are expected to begin sometime later this year.

Own a Virtus, always thought that they if they stretched by 4-5 inches it would look much better, this Jetta looks exactly like the Virtus should look when stretched a little.

They still make good looking cars amidst all the odd looking new cars being released (5 series, X3). I like functional and simple layout of the interiors as well.

If only wishes were horses! Not gonna happen to the Virtus. Not until the D segment would pick up steam again, and the powers that be at VW deign to bring in the Jetta to our shores. But doesn't seem so promising now that everyone and their grandmother wants an "SUV".

No diesel in other markets too? The Germans stopping diesel is not a good sign.

But the 2.0 liter petrol is magnificent. Hope it comes to India in VW or Skoda.

The previous gen Jetta & Passat had a shared platform & components with Audi. Maybe this one does too.

The Jetta is a North America centric model. The VAG 2.0l diesel and larger diesels are well and kicking in the European market.

We do have the 2.0l engine offered in India for ages.

Even if the New Jetta ends up coming to India the prices will be at least at par or equal to the most recent generation of the Octavia in India

Having used the 6 speed gearbox on the VWs, it is arguably one of the best in the world. Slick and smooth throws, an absolute pleasure rowing through the gears.

For right now anyone craving the new Jetta can satisfy their cravings by getting the older generation Jetta with the 6 speed MT, will be a cheaper way or drowning our woes of not getting the new Jetta in India.

Yes. Afaik it's the same one offered in the VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Audi Q3. And in those the state of tune is 190 HP/320 NM, even though the engine with the 228 HP tune has no different internals. Detuning as always, for India.

This is a huge misconception. The TFSIs found in the Octavia RS (230hp) and the Tiguan/Superb/Octavia/Kodiaq are completely different including the internals. The RS is running a 2.0 TFSI Gen 3A engine with a lower compression ratio and a different combustion cycle. The others run a Gen 3B with a much higher compression ratio meaning different internals and a combustion cycle that allows the intake valves to close much earlier. The Gen 3B is fuel economy oriented and has very limited tuning potential. It is also very sensitive to fuel quality. The 3A is the polar opposite. It has very good tuning potential but fuel economy isn't the best.

Both engines are as different as chalk and cheese.

If I remember my VW history correctly, the Jetta formula was Golf+boot.

Whilst I do not want or need a bigger car than Polo, nor do I particularly want a small SUV. No idea if, at my age, there will be another car in my life after my beloved Polo GT TDI, but this thread says to me start saving!

They really should have changed the infotainment system, it looks quite outdated in my opinion. The AC controls also remain the same as the Virtus.
