2025 BMW 3 Series now comes with a mild-hybrid powertrain across its range

BMW has unveiled the updated version of its seventh-generation 3 Series sedan lineup. The new 2025 BMW 3 Series now gets mild-hybrid tech across its entire petrol-powered range.

This is in the form of a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist with each of the powertrain options. Both, the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol on the 330i and the 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder on the M340i get a small electric motor. While the power output on the 330i remains unchanged, the M340i gets a slight bump in overall output from 382 BHP / 500 Nm to 386 BHP / 540 Nm.

Apart from the mild-hybrid tech, BMW is also said to have installed stiffer rear shock mounts and a light steering tune in the car's 'Comfort' mode. In addition, BMW is also offering new wheel and colour options as part of the model year update.

Inside, the 330i now gets a new two-spoke steering wheel as standard, while a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel is offered on both the M340i and 330i, as part of BMW's M Sport package. Other updates include new ambient lighting and updated infotainment; among a few others.

Prices for the updated BMW 3 Series now start at a little over $46,000 in the US market.
