Ahead of its global unveil, BMW has released the first set of photos, showing the upcoming X3 in camouflage while also hinting at a few changes expected on the mid-size SUV.

As seen from the released images, the upcoming 4th-gen X3 will continue to feature a more conventional-looking design. This includes a wide kidney grille at the front, flanked by sharp LED headlamps at either end. The rear also comes with new LED tail lights and a roof-integrated spoiler. Other details include door handles integrated into the body and a slightly tapered roof-line offering a sportier look.

Inside, the new-gen X3 will get BMW's latest iDrive infotainment system, along with a wide digital instrument cluster. BMW also stated that the new-gen X3 "will offer an expanded selection of systems for automated driving and parking compared to the current model."

While BMW didn't share any details about the upcoming X3's specifications, reports do suggest that the SUV will be offered with a range of IC engine options, hybrid powertrains and even an all-electric version.

Prices for the new-gen BMW X3 will be announced during the later stages of 2024.

The new X3 has been leaked on a BMW website.

Gets a very iX inspired design, if this is the real deal.

Re: Next-gen BMW X3 to be globally unveiled in coming weeks; First set of images released

I’m not a big fan of models growing bigger but this is one car that could really do with a little more interior comfort, specially at the back.

If they can bring the all new X3’s M40i variant in CKD like its sedan counterpart, that would be amazing. A lot of folks may be willing to shell out an extra 10 lakh or so for an X3 over a 3 for a dash of touring practicality added to the performance. The current steep price difference pinches a tad too much and it’s really too close to the X5 as of now.

BMW unveils the fourth generation of the X3 debuting a new design and engines.

On the outside we find a design with personal touches but that is in line with the language of the brand.
From the interior, the curved screen that groups the digital panel and the central screen with the new multimedia system stand out.
It will have 4 and 6 cylinder MHEV gasoline and 4 cylinder diesel engines. In 2025 there will be a new 6-cylinder diesel.
The PHEV will have a 4-cylinder petrol engine and a range of up to 90 km (WLTP)

^^ What have they done to the tail lights?

I suppose they are heading towards slimmer tail lights in all their upcoming models, which is evident in the G68- 5 series and G70- 7 series. Have to forget how classy the F25 and G01 gen X3 were.

Re: Next-gen BMW X3 to be globally unveiled in coming weeks; First set of images released

Drooling over this car! It looks so sleek and proportionate. After the recent disappointment with the new Gen 5 series design, which was too bland and boat-like, the new X3 comes back to BMW's slick design language. The design looks so clean, the lines are minimalistic and the proportions are spot on. The interior is lively yet not jazzy.
Agree that it would be a shame if they brought only the base petrol 20 trim to India. We deserve the 20D and 30 trims. Seeing how they are indeed bringing the new 530Li to India, there is a good chance we will get the higher powered petrol engine.

I am hoping against hope they bring the X3 M50 and price it meaningfully, say around 90 lakhs, as they have done with the current X3 M40i that itnwould replace. That would be a cracker of a car and a tremendous value proposition for German luxury car buyers who also want a bit of speed and power.

Design and all that aside, it’s a love-it-or-hate-it design that some are liking a lot meanwhile others are disliking.

What caught my eye are the alloy wheels on one specific media photo. BMW copied Mercedes Benz GLC’s alloy wheel design right off the bat!!

Re: Next-gen BMW X3 to be globally unveiled in coming weeks; First set of images released

The design isn’t working for me at all.

- The rear is tolerable although the rear of the outgoing model looked better to me.
- That upswept outer edge of the headlight is giving me a very Chris Bangle vibe; don’t like it at all.
- The super large grills I never liked on any BMW models.
- The interior looks utterly garish and unsophisticated. I thought the GLC interiors felt a bit ostentatious but this new X3 one is just plain garish and, to put it mildly .. “not nice”.

A very polarising design indeed. They could have taken the chance to make the rear seats also slightly more comfortable (give it a hint of recline or similar) but I was not counting on that anyway.

On that third 255 bhp petrol engine variant, ACI’s insta page categorically listed it as a PHEV while their FB page indicated the same as a normal petrol. I’m hoping its the latter because if its indeed PHEV, then their ‘masses’ petrol engine is going to be underpowered (unlikely they’ll launch the PHEV here and the M50i will be halo pricing even if it comes). Been traveling so not had a chance to check on this elsewhere. I really don’t want to see the petrol X3 go the X1 way on power figures.

Design wise much much better than the G60 5-Series. It will look good in Brooklyn grey shade for sure.

But guys, just look at this beauty!!

Everytime i think that it cannot get more downhill from here for BMW, they show up with something new. This and the new 1 series showcased last week that looks like a Ford Puma, what are they on?

Mercedes get so much criticism for their blob like car designs but BMW has made them look gorgeous in comparison.
I mean just look at that GLC looking so much classier than X3.

BMW is doing this intentionally since we will keep talking about it.
As the saying goes, no such thing as bad publicity.

Re: Next-gen BMW X3 to be globally unveiled in coming weeks; First set of images released

It's probably one of the ugliest BMWs in the lineup today. in search for minimalism/cleaner and boxier look, the car has lost all character! The color showcased is definitely not doing it favours and the interior with those lighting just looks like compensating for the lack of character on the dash as well!

I'm not sure if that move away from the signature BMW lighting is a good choice either - makes it look like that of the 2 generations old Superb or close to the ones on Amaze right now!

The new design language adopted at BMW is plain disappointing, IMHO!
