Re: The Grand Tour could be rebooted with new hosts & an updated format

As much as TG was about Clarkson, May and Hammond, GT was even more so, being created around them. Like BBC found out, the name does not make the game. If you bring in new presenters, bring in a new show - why burden them with expectations and baggage?

As for some suggestions I see above, I can't but laugh. I do follow carwow, auto Alex, etc. But to see Alex Kersten as a serious car expert is horrible for me to imagine. But then I am 54 - maybe time for me to move on as well...

I think the Throttle House guys are the real spiritual successors of the trio. They should be given a chance creating a show with Amazon's budgets. That would be quite something to watch.

Amazes me that people still don't realize that it wasn't just the trio of Hammond, Clarkson & May that made TG great. It's the trio plus the TG production unit! Both were never the same once the split.

Would love to see Chris Harris in some form and somebody mentioned Danny Ric - never thought of that but he could actually be pretty good.

The old Car Throttle team of Alex, Jack and Ethan would probably be the right trio. I've not seen any other group of three have the same chemistry apart from Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Re: The Grand Tour could be rebooted with new hosts & an updated format

The sheer wittiness, ability to captivate & presentation skills exhibited by these three guys over the years demand a befitting closure to their show for the sake of us as the audience, in my humble opinion. Top Gear faded with the introduction of new faces, missing an opportunity to reinvent itself with audacity, confidence in its creativity, and originality.

To the producers and creators of a show seeking to fill the shoes of these iconic figures, I urge you (my 2 cents ): to refrain from even remotely associating yourselves with the ripe personas of the trio. There are a lot of memories we enthusiasts have joyously lived with these three characters, and we need them to remain as they are in the achieves of our memory.
Instead, you must strive to chart a new course, driven by new ideas, courage, and the determination to overcome challenges, thereby earning the genuine validation of automotive enthusiasts worldwide, myself included

That's the whole point. Even if the last few specials were meh, their chemistry is what made me keep watching.

I would rather let the show end gracefully, than to let it become another "new" Top Gear. We all know what happened to it.
