| Senior - BHPian  | BMW's best-selling M car of 2023 was an EV, the electric i4 M50 According to media reports, BMW's best-selling car from their M division is an electric vehicle. The BMW i4 M50 EV, according to the brand, registered the highest sales in 2023, beating even the likes of the M3 and M2. However, BMW doesn't publish specific sales figures. Hence, the number of i4 M50s sold by BMW remains unknown.  The German carmaker until recently counted only M-specific models in their sales numbers. However, BMW now also includes M Performance cars such as the M340i and i4 M50 in their sales figures. These M performance cars aren't exactly M models, but "tuned" by the brand's M Division. This isn't the first time though, the electric BMW i4 M50 outsold all other M cars in 2022 as well. BMW M is working on a new all-electric version of its M3. The BMW M3 electric though is still a while away, with a launch timeline yet to be announced.
