I totally empathise with you said. Unfortunately most people in India seem to be buying SUVs to tell others that they have a bigger vehicle. Yes there are a few die hard off roaders, but who will want to really abuse a 15L + vehicle? In Indian conditions I do agree that the Mahindra range of jeeps is good. The 207 in it's export trim seems like a good ooption too. I am waiting to get rich though.

Some rather interesting observations, no offence intended, but they provide for hours of laughter:

Mercedes M5 (umm, Mercedes and an NA.. or wait, have they taken over the M-division at BMW).

Range Rover Discover (I know i am being a bit hard, but Discover or Discovery?)

Ford Fusion (Crossover pal, not an SUV)

BMW X5 (I hate to say this, but it isn't an SUV, its an SAV- A Sports Activity Vehicle-ala Honda CR-V) But i guess its still valid here, so no probs.

Yeah you are right bro, But i never suggested to go for a 15L+ vehicle.. As you rightly pointed out, the Mahindra Range of Jeeps and the 207 DI CrewCab is available for 5-6L and are pretty good at what they are meant to be. They are not your cozy comfy vehicles.. But real beasts meant to be taken off-roads.

And Didn't you forget the Maruti Gypsy?? I wish it had the TUD5 diesel in it though..
