Audi TT sports car production ends: Final limited-edition roadster unveiled

Audi has confirmed that its TT sports car will finally bid goodbye at the end of this year. Ahead of its discontinuation, the German carmaker has introduced a special-edition iteration of the TT, in the form of the 'Final Edition Roadster'.

The Audi TT final edition roadster will be a limited-production version and will be offered with a bunch of features exclusive to the particular model. This includes a unique Goodwood Green Pearl paint - offered on the sports car's first-generation model. It is complemented by 20-inch multispoke forged wheels finished in Silver. The front bumper gets Matte Grey accents, which are carried forward on the side skirts and the rear bumper as well. The car also comes with a Gray cloth top.

Inside, the final edition roadster also comes with Palomino Brown upholstery with baseball stitching all across the cabin and one-of-a-kind floor mats. There is also a leather package which covers part of the door panel and centre console, using the same Palomino Brown upholstery. The interiors also feature a bunch of carbon-fibre bits all around, while the steering wheel cover and instrument cluster hood are wrapped in black leather.

Last Audi TT sports car rolls off the production line

Audi has rolled out the last TT sports car model off its assembly line at the brand's Gyor plant in Hungary. This marks the end of the 25-year production span of Audi's two-door sports car, first unveiled in coupe form in 1996.

Over its 25-year lifespan, the Audi TT has undergone three generation changes, along with multiple facelifts, special & final editions and two body style configurations (coupe & convertible). The last model to roll off the assembly line was a TTS Coupe powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 306 BHP - allowing it to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

Although Audi had announced the end of production of the TT earlier this year, the carmaker revealed one final special edition iteration earlier this month, in the form of the 'Final Edition Roadster'. Audi is yet to confirm whether or not the TT nameplate will be brought back at any point in the future.
