The first sketches of the latest-generation Kodiaq show that the new model has a confident and elegant design. That’s in addition to cutting-edge technology, an advanced adaptive chassis or advanced infotainment with excellent control ergonomics.

Skoda has released fresh design sketches of the upcoming Kodiaq.









Set for its global premier on October 4, the Skoda Kodiaq will come with five powertrain options globally. Petrol options include a 1.5-litre TSI engine with a mild hybrid system and a 204 bhp 2.0-litre TSI with a four-wheel drive system.

The two diesel powertrains consist of the 2.0-litre TDI engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission in two states of tune. The entry-level version churns out 150 bhp and the performance version produces 193 bhp with a four-wheel-drive system.

There will also be a plug in hybrid on offer; the 1.5-litre TSI engine which works in tandem with a 25.7 kWh battery, which puts out a combined output of 204 bhp. It will be mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Skoda claims that the car has an electric only range of 100 km.

Looks like a facelift of the last facelift rather than a new gen. However still is quite handsome and given what some of the brands have been up to (bmw, merc evs) glad they didn’t experiment too much for the sake of change. Looks like it’s the interiors where they put most of the effort!

Looks fantastic. Hope they launch this trim and color in India. The Kodiaq is an almost perfect SUV for on-road duties for our roads. It’s refined, practical and comfortable with 7 seats in a compact package. The only con was the limited though usable boot space with all 7 seats up and this should be partly addressed this time with about 70+ litres ie. 25% more boot space.

If this comes out to be true, I find headlights & tail lights of current generation better.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I don't like the pincer-like rear lights in the above pictures

All New Skoda Kodiaq revealed:

For the first time, the popular SUV will also be available as a Kodiaq iV with plug-in hybrid powertrain. With a combined output of 204 hp, it promises an all-electric range of over 100 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. For the first time, the Kodiaq also sees mild-hybrid technology: that’s the 150bhp 1.5 TSI model. The engines’ line-up is completed by a 2.0 TSI petrol engine and two 2.0 TDI diesels, delivering 150 and 193 hp respectively. All units are coupled to a DSG automatic transmission and the top petrol and diesel variants have all-wheel drive as standard.

The new generation of the Škoda Kodiaq boasts more muscular and striking looks than its predecessor. It has grown by 6 centimetres in length, offering more space for passengers and luggage. The overall length is 4,758 millimetres, while the boot volume has also increased: up to 910 litres in the five-seater variant. The improved aerodynamics are demonstrated by a cd drag coefficient of just 0.282.

The SUV’s design is accentuated by a re-shaped bonnet with the redesigned Škoda logo and a distinctive hexagonal grille. One key feature is the optional second-generation full LED Matrix headlights, which cast a brighter and clearer light and whose 36 individual light segments create the brand’s characteristic “four-eyed” front end.
The centrepiece of the interior is a free-standing 13-inch infotainment screen complemented by a 10-inch virtual cockpit and optional head-up display. Below the infotainment screen are the new multi-function controls (Smart Dials) – three multi-function rotary and press buttons with integrated digital displays. These dials simplify access to various functions and combine haptic feedback with digital information.
The new SUV is always online and offers an array of mobile services and infotainment apps. There are three displays in the car: a 10-inch virtual cockpit, a centre infotainment screen of up to 13 inches and now also a head-up display. The car is equipped with four USB-C ports with 45 watts of power for fast charging of mobile devices. One new feature is enhanced wireless charging, which lets two smartphones be charged inductively simultaneously with 15 watts of power.

- The overall length is 4,758 millimetres, while the boot volume has also increased: up to 910 litres in the five-seater variant.
- There is a choice of five or seven seats in Europe.
- Boot space has grown to 340 litres with all seats in place (up from 270L), and 845L with the third row of seats folded (up from 765L) – while Skoda says passengers in the third row have 15mm more headroom than the previous model.
