This also mentions that it needs 95 octane fuel as a minimum. Given the fact that the 4x4s variants do not have the plug in hybrid option on the 2 litre engines, they will be guzzlers in the city. A pricier fuel option makes it even more costly to own a top variant petrol.

This was one of the cars I was waiting for, as there are no proper 4x4 petrols available to replace my Duster AWD. But alas..

95 octane is a standard even with current generation & yeah, they are guzzlers in city - we can hardly cross 10 KMPL in stop-go traffic.

re: Next-gen Skoda Kodiaq, now unveiled

I went to a Skoda dealership today in Noida and they said the new Kodiaq will come to India in around two years around 2025 mid.

Do you think that this would be true or they are just trying to get rid of their current stockpile of Kodiaq cars.

Two years. Yes. This would be they trying to clear their current stock.

Generally kit production for the previous model stops worldwide once the new model goes into manufacturing. Since India sources it's CKD kits for the Kodiaq from Skoda's global plants, there is no chance that India will continue to get the old kits once the global switche over to the new model occurs around spring next year, as global sales commence mid 2024.

I expect India will also get the new model starting later part of 2024, maybe in time for the festive season. It would still be approximately a year away, but not as late as 2025. The only issue is that there will likely be massive global demand of kits and the allocation for India will be quite small.

That is laughable desperation by the dealer to sell you his/her pending allocation of cars. I think we will get the new Kodiaq by mid 2024 max, and I say that after reading every possible article about the car and news, interviews around.

During the global launch, the only country which got a mention was INDIA. Besides Europe (which is a region). I believe we will get the car by Mid 24 - and will be one of the earliest markets to get launched in - as Skoda looks to amp up its brand presence.

Re: Next-gen Skoda Kodiaq, now unveiled

Some more details:

1) In the UK, sales of the new Kodiaq will commence in February 2024, although initial deliveries are not anticipated until June of the same year. I guess the same would be applicable for rest of Europe. India will happen only in second wave.

2) "Kodiaq will officially go on-sale across Europe from early next year with China, India and Australia following after".

3) "A brand-new Skoda Kodiaq RS will launch in the second half of 2024, delivering what’s likely to be one of the final combustion-engined cars to be created by the Czech brand’s performance sub-division. It will make its public debut in the final quarter of 2024, with first deliveries in the new year 2025".

4) "The engine that will be used for the forthcoming Kodiaq RS has yet to be detailed, but Neft revealed that his team have “already decided not to do it with a plug-in hybrid”. That rules out a more powerful version of the new Kodiaq iV’s 150kW powertrain, and makes it all but certain that the Kodiaq RS will use a version of the VW Group’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motor, producing around 200kW". It will be a 4x4

5) Finally, I feel there will be a L&K version of the Kodiaq too - but probably in last Q of 2024.

I was speaking with a dealer sales rep during a routine service visit and he told me that they are accepting un-official bookings for the new Kodiaq.

Very hard to believe that, not what you are saying - but the dealer - considering it is not even so in Europe, even pricing is not revealed.

Can you share which dealer?

Top points:

1) Review test drives will only happen next year

2) Bookings for the New Kodiaq will open later this year itself (I'm guessing mainly Europe only + Australia)

3) Deliveries for the new Kodiaq in these markets will only begin in second quarter of next year, so April or later...

Landing in UK dealerships by early 2024. Hoping they decide and update on Indian plans soon too.

Re: Next-gen Skoda Kodiaq, now unveiled

Does anybody have an idea whether this too would need 95 Octave fuel or a normal petrol from the bunk will suffice?

Most everyone I know, myself included, are aware that you can drive them Octavia, Superb, Tiguan, Kodiaq's on 91 Octane but it's highly recommended that you use 95 Octane as prescribed by the manufacturer and we do.

You will not only get the proper response and smoothness as expected when you buy one of these higher cars with the mighty 2.0 TSI but also avoid any premature corrosion(fuel injector) or any other issues down the line, and with about ~6Rs./L difference(in Bombay atleast) being between the 91 Octane and XP95/Power95 It's a no brainer.
