Neat, futuristic and functional. Good job Skoda.
Will the plug-in hybrid come to India? Seems to be sensible upgrade for my 2017 Tiguan.

The tail lights certainly look better on the final version compared to what was shown in one of the renders above, looked much better during the presentation as well. Could be a case of it looking better in real life than in the photos. Feeling impartial towards to them as of now.

Absolutely loved the DRL running under the grill on the front though

re: Next-gen Skoda Kodiaq, now unveiled

My two cents:

1) During the reveal last night, the presenter and the Skoda senior rep gave a special shout out to Indians watching (must be a large number), and mentioned how important the Indian market is for Skoda, in fact the most important after Europe. Hoping that means we get the launch soon after Q1 in Europe.

2) Was delighted to see that there's a head-up display, massager in front seats. The two comfort features I definitely wanted in my next purchase.

3) Feel the metallic bronze (bronx) color looks incredible. Do guys think we will get the Plug-in hybrid version in the country?

Great car. Looks little more SUVish than before. I think it should come with atleast hybrid powertrain. Plugin hybrid would be too costly. Or give us the diesel please

Here's another video which shows off the car's headlights in the dark!

In a five seater version, this can be a killer overlander for two people provided they pack 4x4 and all other regular stuff. That 4750 mm length is just about right. Not too long for hills, not so short that you cant fit anything in there!

This is, in my opinion, a good looking and well proportioned car. However, I think it screams 'Kushaq Pro Max' instead of next gen Kodiaq. Bringing down flagship designs to mass market cars is a good move, but vice versa? I'm not sure.

Personally, I quite like what they've done with the lighting on the grill. It looks classier than a (tube)light bar in the front

Waiting for this to arrive on Indian shores

Still no AC for 3rd row! It maybe okay for Europe, but in India, without a 3rd row AC, it's impossible for kids and pets to travel in the heat. What was Skoda thinking?

If getting the vents to the 3rd row is a design restriction, then they should have thought of a workaround. Meridian has an evaporator based AC for 3rd row.

Absolutely stunning face. It somehow reminds me of 1st gen Audi Q7 - bulky and aggressive at the same time. The rear though looks good in isolation, didn’t gel with the curvy front. Hope we get multiple powertrain options when this gen comes to our shore.

Wait, they won’t get the oil burner to India. Hybrid with 1.5 turbo doesn’t make sense in that price range and 2.0 with plug-in hybrid will bump up the price significantly. So it’s just the regular 2.0 turbo petrol only

They should have added a localised fan unit there - that would do the trick if a 2nd evaporator can't be added.

Any inputs on E20/27 compliance of the offered engines.

I love the rear but the front looks odd, would prefer the Tiguan interiors and front fascia. I wish they would bring the PHEV at least as a CBU unit.

Grill has gotten bulkier and more rounded which reminds me of S-Cross a bit.
I don't know why auto makers are making the grills bigger/more prominent. Since the world is moving towards EVs/Hybrids, the grills should be semantically played down (even in IC cars) to indicate the shift.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This is a stretched out, maxed out Kushaq. Extremely busy front fascia as well. The new Tiguan looks more decent IMHO.
