To me this design language seems a lift the Ford Bronco or the Rivian R1S, anyone else?

Either way sharp edges seem to the current design trend - Tesla's pick-up being an extreme example.

Anyone else thinks that the 'Santa Fe' badging on the tailgate seems misaligned? It looks like it, according to the image shared by BHP-ian volkman10.

Front is good, lot of elements that resemble Exter, profile is very Defender like but spoilt by the hideous wheel arches that look out of place and finally the rear makes Fiat Uno look good

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

The departure in design philosophy from generation to generation is so striking, something the Germans are wary of and probably makes the latter more timeless

The inspiration is clearly Land Rover who did 'boxy' first and most consistently

Smashing interior. Some elements of the mighty Range Rover in there, especially that center AC control stack.

They got everything right except for the rear section which looks like a block of processed cheese.

Just put the tail lights in their regular place and this will still be a good looking car.

The designs from Hyundai, always make me think that they start off with designing good cars and then think about "how can we make this weird?"

The Exter was the precursor for the new design language. It is amazing how Hyundai completely changes their product looks in few years.

More interested to see the Creta iteration under this new design schemes. NOoat a fan of the present design (LOVED the first iteration).

I think the designing team lost steam by the time they reached the rear. However the front, side and interior more than makes up for it. Now let’s see what’s under the hood. Will it continue with the existing layout or something out of the box that will decide it’s future.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

Looks like Hyundai has more or less finalized the future design direction and it looks good for the most part unless they ruin it with unnecessary cuts and creases.

The boxy design has always been timeless and good to see it making a comeback. A little bit of curve on the rear windscreen and tail lights mounted higher up, and smaller lettering would have reduced the quirkyness at the rear and made it appealing!

Those H(yundai) LED lamps look cool and they have taken the interiors to the next level. Looks like some new found synergy with Genesis design teams.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

Why does Hyundai keep changing its design language every 2 years. I mean there was a fluidic design for sometime, venue design language was there for a while , then came the tube light design on the new Verna, Elantra etc and now this box ? Makes the new Verna look dated within few years, when compared to the city, salvia and Virtus after a few years. Take for example a 2010 i20 and a 2010 polo, the polo is still able to hold its own even today with just a new bumper and grill visually, can that be said about the i20 no. Some timeless deigns would work.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

The design evolution of Hyundai is interesting. When the fluidic designs were released, i believe they hired a good number of designers from BMW including its head of design if my remembrance serves right.

I believe every 2 years they keep changing the design teams to evolve a new a philosophy. The boxy designs are heavily inspired from the Landrover, Bronco and other similar vehicles.

I quite like the design of the new Santa Fe, but I am not a great fan of the design on the taligate end.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

EEKS! What have they done to the rear. It is a bad attempt at copying a Range Rover. The rear takes away all the drama of the front. Looks like its been inspired by the old Toyota Previa. C'mon Hyundai what are you thinking with this design language. Its not going to fare well. Thankfully this wont come to India.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

Speaking strictly in a lighter vein, this is one rear end that you kinda sorta hope WILL get rear ended! Anything will look better than the monstrosity that is this rear end!

But honestly, how does something like this even pass internal controls. Do they not realize how cuckoo it looks?

Re: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled: Gets a completely new striking design overhaul

The new Santa Fe looks really good in the front and side profile is superb for an SUV. Reminds me of the Ford Endeavour & Bronco. The previous design language was called "Fluidic"; wonder what they're calling this.. May be "Ice cube" (because of the boxiness and the ridiculous looking rear end)?! 😂
