Mahindra launches the XUV700 in Australia

Mahindra has launched the XUV700 in the Australian market. The SUV is available in two top-spec variants: AX7 and AX7 L.

In Australia, the XUV700 is only offered with a turbo-petrol engine. The 2.0-litre mStallion engine develops 200 BHP and 380 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Unlike the India-spec XUV700, it does not get a diesel engine or a manual transmission option.

Coming to the features on offer, the XUV700 is similarly equipped to its Indian counterpart. The SUV comes with LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and retractable door handles.

Inside, the car gets dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger and ambient lighting.

The Australia-spec XUV700 is also equipped with ADAS as standard. It comes with a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control and TPMS; among others.

Re: Mahindra launches the XUV700 in Australia

M&M has introduced ADAS across all variants to comply with the applicable laws.

Quote:
ANCAP SAFETY, has today welcomed the announcement by the Australian Government to introduce an Australian Design Rule (ADR) mandating the fitment of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) in light vehicles.

The new Australian Design Rule specifies the regulatory requirement for AEB systems to be fitted on newly-introduced vehicle models from March 2023, and all models on sale in Australia from March 2025

Certainly a fan of the XUV700, but pretty sure this was a Paid/Sponsored video which almost seemed to be a readout of Mahindra's press release.

Regardless, a very capable vehicle that deserves global acclaim. Mahindra needs to match the demand now, and increased export supply doesn't help with that.

2023 Mahindra XUV700 recalled in Australia due to electrical fire risk.

Mahindra's new XUV700 SUV has been recalled less than three months after going on sale in Australia, with a faulty wiring harness pinned as a potential fire hazard.

Quote:
Mahindra has recalled 330 examples of its 2023 Mahindra XUV700, following the discovery of an engine bay electrical defect which could lead to the SUV catching fire.

A thermal incident which may lead to vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.
