The latest and greatest from Aston Martin | A Baby Pram

I have always had a spot for Aston Martin. I can’t say I like all their cars, but they have build some gorgeous cars over the years. And even though some of those drove terribly (Although 007 would like you to believe differently) there is definitely a sort of exquisite and posh aura around all that comes out of the Aston Martin.

And as with other “Super Car” brands they also bring Aston Martin branded items to the market. E.g. a key holder, a poloshirt, a cap etc.

Never the less I was quite surprised to walk into a shop here in the Netherlands and came across this:

A couple of things spring to mind. Who in his/her right mind would spend this sort of money on a pram. The discounted price of Euro 3199 equals INR 285000!!!

The original price of nearly Euro 4000, is almost as much as I paid for my Jeep Cherokee!!

And you know what, you’re baby doesn’t care what brand pram it has!!

Mind you, this is a limited special series, only 600 of these prams will be produced!

It has the following.

1. Carbon Fiber and other material for reduced weight.
2. Three airbags for the baby's cushion and accidental fall protection.
3. Removable baby holder.
4. Comes with custom built leather, upholstery that even the queen of England cannot afford.
5. Suspension better than most Indian cars.
6. Legacy of Aston martin brand.

I got to know all this from the below link :

Do check it out. Its already out of stock.

Clearly, we're paying for the brand itself, no doubt.

While, I'm not against this particular product, as the market will decide its fate, but I do hope companies would bring in reliable track tools for kids, something like a junior car or motorcycle or kart, but far more reliable than the local stuff we get.
Few years ago, Kawasaki did launch an off roader styled kids bike in India, again, it was something around 3 Lakhs or so, but yes, it was there.
Unbranded sellers exist in every city, but they're just that- unbranded & often unreliable.

So just the branding is worth some 2500 Euros? WOW

And it is mostly sold out. Good insight on how the human mind works.

And here I was moping around that the Jimny is overpriced. The human psyche is undecipherable. The icing on the cake is not just the pricing but that it is sold out too
It goes to show that there are too many people with too much money upping the ante for folks like us who just try to make ends meet.

Re: The latest and greatest from Aston Martin | A Baby Pram

Prams in general are expensive, especially the modern convertible systems, but this is just easy money for Aston. If memory serves me correctly, a lot of these designer goods was pretty much where Lawrence made his money, and he's pretty much said from the outset he wants to emulate Ferrari, including their whole branded tat business, so unsurprising to see him copy from the playbook to sling Aston branded merch of all sorts.

Great article from the Guardian about the rise of the fancy pram/buggy/strollers:
https://www.theguardian.com/news/201...ller-parenting

Covers the interesting phenomena where nice prams have become a new vector in the status symbol wars.
