Technik Museum Sinsheim, Germany | Airplanes, Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Tanks & more

Greetings from Sunil,
I was searching in the forums for Technik Museum Sinsheim, and found something else which was not what I had in mind.
Request the Admin / Moderators to move this post / club this post to the appropriate post if any.

This post is about my visit to Germany back in 2014 - close to 9 years ago, so please bear with me, as I fail to recollect most of the information related to the exhibits.
We had been on a day trip to Sinsheim from Stuttgart-Esslingen, and a one day visit definitely does not do justice to go through all the exhibits available there.

More details here - https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/

As iterated earlier, with my memory failing to recollect the information on the exhibits, I would like to do the pictures do the talking.
I would like to invite the knowledgeable members here to share their inputs and make this post more interesting.

I was told that cockpit even these days are mostly analog - as they are usually failsafe - not sure about that though, When ever I have boarded an airplane, the airhostess always told me - your seats are at the other way please

With so many meters and gauges on the dashboard, The average car user who is used to a maximum of 3-4 meters on the dash board will get dizzy and imagine that pilot driving the average car with just three meters on the dash board!!

That is all I could share from what little I could gather in a one day visit.
A single day visit is definitely not the way to do it though.
If some one is interested to visit Sinsheim, better to club the Sinsheim technik museum and the Speyer Museum which is about 35 km from this place and cover both these places in at least 3 to 4 days.

Most of the one line information for the exhibits are from the placards and some are from after searching on the internet. Please excuse me if some incorrect information has crept in.

Thank you for your time.

Hearty congratulations on your maiden thread. A wonderful opening I say.

That is a great collection of transport types not to mention military assets to tickle every boy's heart. The unknown Russian copter is a Kamov Ka-26. Nice to see old master pieces from the Soviet era - Tupolev Tu-134 and IL-114. The latter was a noisy bone rattler to fly was told by an old ex-employee who flew them in the IAF. Can't tell which aircraft is the one where the photo is only from the aft. Looks like a Tu-144.

Thank you for sharing these photos.

Thanks for sharing. Brings back many memories. I have been to this museum once, probably about 20 years ago. Absolute wonderful collection.

There is a similar museum very nearby in Speyer, called, you guessed it! Speyer technik museum.

https://speyer.technik-museum.de/en/

You can buy combination tickets at either museum or online. They also offer hotel arrangements and entry to both museums.

Lovely thread. @admin, could you please correct the title? Tankers are vehicles that carry milk, petroleum etc. The heavily armored military vehicles are tanks, hence the expression, 'Built like a tank'.

Thanks for the great memories. Visited the museum in 2017. To be inside the Concorde is definitely a surreal moment. What a funny seat layout it has

The original seat layout was 2x2 throughout. I guess, in this demo model, some of the seats have been removed to allow visitors to move around freely.

I visited here during 2011 and even after so many years, most of the exhibits are felt like seen yesterday
Having almost similar photos in my Google Album!
No words to express about the feeling of entering the iconic Concorde and Tupolev Tu144. Especially the cokpit with full of analogue dials and controls everywhere, including the roof, side walls etc! Masterpiece of 60's and 70's.
Amazing place to visit in case if anyone going to Germany.
