Mercedes-AMG One is 19 seconds off a 2022 F1 car around Monza; Sets new lap record Mercedes-AMG One is now the fastest production car around the Autodromo Nazionale Monza F1 track. The Mercedes-AMG One set a new production car lap record of 1:43.902, which is 11 seconds faster than the previous record holder, the 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
What's more impressive, though, is how close the time is to an actual F1 car. Reports state that the AMG One is just 19.8 seconds slower than the fastest lap set by Red Bull's Sergio Perez during the 2022 Grand Prix, at 1:24.030.
The Mercedes-AMG One record run was done on a set of road-legal yet specifically-made Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R MO1 tyres and was driven by AMG factory racing driver Maro Engel.
The hypercar comes powered by an F1-derived 1.6-litre turbocharged V6. The powertrain also consists of four electric motors, which together produce 1,063 BHP. Performance figures include an electronically-limited top speed of 325 km/h and a 0 - 100 km/h sprint time of 2.9 seconds.
