2025? I mean seriously? Currently Renault is already on Oxygen here in India and their existing models are not doing so well for last 1-2 years. They need new model badly. Duster is already a successful product in India and they should launch this ASAP here in India so that they will get much needed volumes. They just need to make sure that they get interiors right and feature set correct as per 2023 and competition (Don't follow Citroen please). Rest all things are good only and new model looks really smashing.

But I guess we will not get it soon. Still Multinational companies think India as a 3rd world market. God bless Renault.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

IMO, if its true that Renault is going to bring the Duster by end of 2025, then I see this as almost a lost opportunity for the simple reason that the competition/market will be completely different and better for this product to compete with its current USP's as such.

You may have already seen images of the Duster over the internet. Now, here’s a handy video that shows some of the exterior details of the new model. It also gives an overview of the interior and the features available.

Yes, saw many videos on the net, I couldnt find mention of sunroof anywhere! I know how unpractical a sunroof is our conditions, however, if the market demands how can an OEM not offer it is an option even in the highest trim puzzles me! Dacia is a budget brand in the EU, however, can Renault India modify the bodyshell and provide a panoramic sunroof for prospective buyers looking for that option? Else, I presume some of the bookings will go to rivals Creta/Seltos/Grand Vitara/Hyryder/Astor.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

If I am not wrong, the 2025 Duster will be less powerful both in torque and power that the current Duster Turbo (my current ride that I'm addicted to). Few more observations- no hand rest for the rear seat, single glove box as compared to 2 in the current Duster, no rear AC vents or panoramic sunroof in 2025 that have become the norm even before 2020. My excitement levels have dropped. Good that I have extended warranty till 2027 for my current Duster. Can't help sharing a few pictures of the machine that gave me wings, is filling life with so many memories and puts a smile on my face everyday!

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

I'm praying that Renault India survives another two years (with their current portfolio of models) until the new Duster is ready for launch in India.

French carmakers are known to produce gorgeous-looking cars, but they somehow manage to screw up most of their products in India (Citroen and Renault).

AWD would be a great addition, but there is a big reason why the market leaders like Creta/Seltos,Harrier etc... don't offer AWD as there is only a minority of the buyers actually going for it.

Adding AWD requires additional investment and even the non-AWD variant would impact costs up due to the additional components and diversity. Serious offroaders won't buy this class/segment vehicles. Instead, they go for Thar/Jimny. Even previous Duster AWD sales were very minor if compared with other variants.

Hope-fully they at least an electric motor-assisted AWD to keep the car within affordable bracket without losing moderate offroad capability.
I am one of that minority member who had bought the AWD. Though very capable, I hardly had to use the AWD system. So, I am not sure if I would go for it in my next purchase. I guess the full hybrid model only offers 2WD. I am in love with the looks. If priced correctly, this is surely going to be my replacement car. But what the AWD offers presently is a very reliable and efficient diesel engine, combined to great gear ratios, which is different from the 2WD version. There is very negligible tubo lag and riding in the city is very good. The 2nd , 3rd and 4rth gear (as applicable) takes you along almost like an automatic. You hardly have to change gears in city. However I wish the 6th was a bit taller.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

If they are going to bring it in 2025, they might as well cancel it altogether. Seltos is already updated and selling like hot cakes, by next year, the Creta will get updated and dominate the segment even further. GV/Hyryder and Elevate are also doing pretty well. Without the diesel engine, I can see people skipping Duster for its more established alternatives. The only way they can take advantage is if they launch it in the first quarter of 2024.

India-spec Renault Duster to come in 5 & 7-seat configurations

Earlier this week, Renault’s sister brand Dacia, unveiled the third-generation Duster SUV. It is expected to be launched in India in 2025 and will be offered in 5-seat and 7-seat configurations.

The third-generation Duster is based on the CMF-B platform. At 4.34 meters long, it is slightly longer than the outgoing model. The 7-seat version will come with three rows of seats, but its exact dimensions are unknown.

The new Duster borrows design cues from the Bigster concept. It features Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and Y-shaped taillights, chunky fenders with squared-off wheel arches and rugged cladding all around. Inside, the SUV gets an all-new dashboard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that’s angled towards the driver, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

The new Duster also comes with an ADAS suite, which includes safety features like automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition with speeding alert, rear parking assistant, lane change warning and assist, and pedestrian detection, along with vehicle, cyclist and motorcycle detection.

The Duster is available with three engine options. These include a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol paired with a mild-hybrid system, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo bi-fuel engine and a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid that comes with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery pack. It is offered in front-wheel drive and 4x4 configurations.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

I remember Duster in India with 1.2L turbo engine (120 HP) during its initial years. Renault then introduced 1.3L TCe turbo engine (around 150 HP) before discontinuing the model.

Considering that the 1.0L TCe turbo engine is manufactured in India for Triber/Kiger/Magnite, my guess is that the powertrain in India might be 1.3L TCe.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

This is such a beautiful looking car. I recently picked up a Seltos to replace my 7yr old Kwid after I got tired of waiting for Renault to launch the new Duster in India. A mild hybrid version of the car would make for a compelling value proposition that the Korean twins won't match.

On a totally unrelated note, I hate the latest Dacia logo. At first glance I thought that front grill was a Dilip Chhabria mod.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Seeing all these pics and info, I am missing my Duster a lot. New duster looks very promising. Duster is a very well engineered car.

I sold my duster after 1.36 lakh kms in 9 years and never had any ill thought about it. It always felt nice to travel and loved the suspension setup.

Though I got myself a Scorpio N, i will still try to acquire Duster to my collection when it is launched!!

Cool looking car. Unmistakably Duster. I like the way they designed it as an evolution to original duster, in a modern looking avatar.

Is that a mobile holder next to the infotainment screen ?

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Being a Duster owner for 9 years and having driven approx 1.3 L km I am extremely happy. Having first seen the vehicle in 2010 in Sofia and decided to buy it when launched here.

My mother who knows nothing about cars says that it is the most comfortable car.

I have a Thar , Nexon and am still holding on to my Duster. Should the new Duster be priced well and ride as well as the old I shall be a buyer. We hope they launch it in 2024

India is not Europe and Duster is not cheap here. The interior is good looking but what is needed in India is using softer materials which can be done even aftermarket like wrapping with leatherette.

Good looking car in and out. Hope it handles and drives like the older or better.

AWD not needed but Power definitely needed and strong hybrid is a good decision. EV should follow.

Yes , It is a mobile holder. Do have a look at the video.

Very nice points given all over the car to hold myriad attachments.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Well those pics of next generation duster got many of us excited!!

The only issue I see is speculations of 5 and 7 seater configurations, I hope they are not going to have a different design for India and screw up completely.
Obviously drive reviews are still awaited.

This car/suv would be on my radar for my next purchase, honestly it's for people who don't want sunroof and all the gizmos. Just start the engine, enjoy the ride!!

They got the basics right and with this design one can only imagine the how Dope it will look with after market alloys and all possible customizations.

Hope they launch it early and not wait till 2025!
