Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Absolutely love this one. A friend of mine had this back in 2014-15 when I had a Fortuner. I would always favour taking the Duster instead of the Fortuner because of how comfortable it was. The ride was just incredibly soft.

I am really excited for this launch. If Renault doesn't mess up with the Indian spec version we will have a winner for sure. The quality on this vehicle was bullet proof. The doors were so heavy and I'm sure this will be 5 star rated. Fingers crossed.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

No way this thing costs anything less than 20 lakhs in India and even that for the base variant.

Anyway I like the exterior but the interior looks unfinished. Looks so tasteless.

Clean design and interiors look better too than previous version. They are late by atleast 3 years though. Two things:
1. When every tom, dick and harry is harping on safety rating nowadays, have to see how this will score.
2. Will the new Dacia logo be an infringement on our local DC.

It will be launched in India as Renault, so the question of infringement does not apply.

Every single time I looked at the grill, I read DC in my mind - heck it even looks like the quirky design is a handiwork of our own DC.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

What type of Automatic Transmission will be offered : CVT, DCT or TC
Renault India should officially declare the launch dates rather than speculations (of types Diwali 2025 launch etc)
How does the Hybrid tech from Renault compare with that from Toyota

Stand corrected.

On another note, its hard not to get inspired from Jeep.

Manual transmission is there, there are pics of it in other press release pics.

But yeah, no diesel. If they don't find any replacement for diesel, either hybrid or EV, they are just doing harakiri in the Indian market. Just resting on the ride comfort factor with mediocre engiens won't do, unless it is from Japan or South Korea.

For clear view on the Engine and Transmissons on offer:

Hybrid 140

A 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and starter-generator for a total output of 138bhp. The full-hybrid Duster will be available only with an automatic gearbox.

Mild-Hybrid:

The TCe 130 is a 128bhp three-cylinder, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, boosted by a 48V mild-hybrid starter-generator. TCe 130 comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, and with the choice of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

Bi-Fuel

Continue to offer an LPG and this will continue with the TCe 100 Bi-Fuel. Manual Transmission.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Quick tour of the 2024 Renault Duster: features & engine options

The all-new Renault Duster made its global debut earlier this week. The SUV is expected to be launched in the Indian market in 2025.

You may have already seen images of the Duster over the internet. Now, here’s a handy video that shows some of the exterior details of the new model. It also gives an overview of the interior and the features available.

The new Duster is based on the CMF-B platform. You will find several design elements borrowed from the Bigster concept. These include the Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and Y-shaped taillights, chunky fenders with squared-off wheel arches and rugged cladding all around.

The Y-shaped theme has been carried over inside the cabin. The Duster gets an all-new dashboard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that’s angled towards the driver. There’s a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Overall, the interior looks modern and durable.

In the global markets, the new Duster will be available with three engine options – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol that runs on the Miller cycle and is paired with a mild-hybrid system, a bi-fuel version powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo that can run on either petrol or LPG and lastly, there’s the 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery pack.

Thanks to BHPiaan Sathyasuri for the heads-up!
