I am liking this a lot. Do we expect to get the 1.3 turbo with 170hp and AWD?

All-new Renault Duster SUV globally unveiled

Renault-owned brand Dacia has unveiled the all-new Duster SUV for the global market.

The new 2024 Renault Duster SUV comes with a complete revamp, both in terms of its interior and exterior. It borrows a lot of elements from the brand's Bigster concept. Starting at the front is a pair of sleek LED headlamps with integrated Y-shaped LED DRLs connected via inserts on the front grille. The new-gen Duster gets a boxy and muscular look all around, with squared-off wheel arches, side cladding, flared rear fender, roof rails, tapering window line and a roof-integrated spoiler at the rear. The rear also comes with Y-shaped LED taillights.

Inside, the 2024 Duster gets a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen display at the centre of the overhauled dashboard. The AC vents are positioned below the infotainment system, with the centre console also getting plenty of cubby spaces. The SUV also gets a fully digital instrument cluster behind a new three-spoke steering wheel with multiple controls for various driver assist and infotainment functions. There is also a unique dedicated phone holder between the instrument cluster and the infotainment display. Other features include heated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, multiple airbags, electronic parking brake, ADAS and plenty of type-c charging ports around the cabin.

The new Renault Duster is underpinned by the brand's CMF-B platform. While the company is yet to reveal the powertrain options, Renault has confirmed that the new Duster will get a hybrid powertrain option and a 4x4 version as well.

The new-gen Duster will go on sale in international markets sometime early next year. It is also scheduled to make its entry into the Indian market in 2025. Once launched in India, the SUV will take on the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate and MG Astor.

Good Looking. Design still smells the old Duster in our shores with a fresh look.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

The OG of all SUVs (or so called SUVs) under 25L in India is back boiz. (hopefully)

I just hope Renault launches it in AWD as well and doesn't chicken out like Hyundai/Kia with only offering 2WD. It will be the go-to car for many city dwellers who like to drive on their own to different harsh terrains and use that very car for their daily commute. Well, most of the crowd cannot keep a i20 and a Hilux.

2025 is rather a very sweet time for me as well . My current ride will be 8+ years old and I can think of some change. I am already grinning.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Is the all-new Dacia Duster the best budget SUV?

The finer details of the Dacia Duster:

Quote:
Dacia presents the 3rd generation of the Duster and perpetuates the saga of its iconic bestseller, the new Duster, with a more robust and assertive design
The new Duster takes a leap forward thanks to the CMF-B platform
Its crossover capabilities are further enhanced in the 4×4 version
Features more durable materials and hybrid engines
New technologies for safety and comfort Everything is new except the essentials: the Duster remains the best-in-class family SUV!
Approach angle of 31 deg and Descent angle of 36 deg at Rear (Higher setup variant)

The Duster’s roofline has been lowered to improve efficiency, according to Dacia, but sitting in the car, it felt perfectly spacious for a 6ft-tall adult, both up front and in the rear. The boot is bigger than the previous model’s too, with a capacity of up to 472 litres (up from 442 litres in the old two-wheel-drive iteration).
Quote:
the Hybrid 140, as seen on the Jogger, blending a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and starter-generator for a total output of 138bhp. Dacia says the Duster Hybrid 140 will be able to drive in all-electric mode for up to 80 per cent of the time in cities, thanks to the set-up’s 1.2kWh battery. As with the Jogger, the full-hybrid Duster will be available only with an automatic gearbox.
Quote:
there’s a new more conventional petrol, the TCe 130. It’s a 128bhp three-cylinder, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, boosted by a 48V mild-hybrid starter-generator. Dacia claims the assistance helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by around 10 per cent, compared with an equivalent non-hybrid motor. The TCe 130 comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, and with the choice of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive – the first time that driven rear wheels have been offered with the CMF-B platform.
Dacia is one of the few car makers in Europe to continue to offer an LPG and this will continue with the TCe 100 Bi-Fuel. Duster Bi-Fuel comes with an impressive 807-mile range.

Quote:
New driving modes have been added to the Duster, to give it more off-road ability. The “4x4 Terrain Control transmission” includes five settings; Auto distributes power between the front and rear, depending on the vehicle’s speed and grip, Snow optimises traction for slippery surfaces, Mud/Sand is for fluctuating terrain and Eco optimises the torque flow to decrease fuel consumption.

The driving modes are selectable via a rotary knob in the centre console. In the middle of the dial there’s a hill-descent control function to help limit the car’s speed on steep downhill gradients. The central screen also has a readout of the car’s tilt, pitch and power distribution.
Quote:
There are four trim levels for the new Duster. Essential kicks things off and it’s followed by Expression, while at the top of the range there’s a split between the Journey model and the slightly more off-road-focused Extreme.

Essential features a 3.5-inch media screen on the dash, a smartphone holder (which is what Dacia expects customers to use more often than the screen), Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, cruise control and rear parking sensors.

Both the 10.1-inch screen and Dacia’s newly revised infotainment offering are available on the Expression trim level and up. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, plus a reversing camera. Expression also gets a larger seven-inch driver’s display and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Dacia hasn’t announced pricing for the new Duster as of yet, but it’s expected to cost from under 20,000 euros. Expect only a mild increase on the current car’s £17,295 starting price when the all-new version arrives in showrooms in the second half of 2024.

Good handsome looking SUV. Loved the tail-lights design. Has it grown in size compared to the earlier version?
Sad that it will come to India only in 2025.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Great design and thank god for not putting a long light-bar trend at the rear.

AWD would be a great addition, but there is a big reason why the market leaders like Creta/Seltos,Harrier etc... don't offer AWD as there is only a minority of the buyers actually going for it.

Adding AWD requires additional investment and even the non-AWD variant would impact costs up due to the additional components and diversity. Serious offroaders won't buy this class/segment vehicles. Instead, they go for Thar/Jimny. Even previous Duster AWD sales were very minor if compared with other variants.

Hope-fully they at least an electric motor-assisted AWD to keep the car within affordable bracket without losing moderate offroad capability.

TVC of the Dacia Duster:

AVAILABLE WITH HYBRID ENGINE!

Quote:
For the first time, Duster has a 140 hp hybrid engine. Enjoy a dynamic engine without charging at the socket. You can drive in purely electric mode on 80% of urban journeys and reduce fuel consumption by up to 40%*.

Re: Next-gen Renault Duster spied testing internationally ahead of debut

Think I spot some clever bit of utilities in there. The integrated phone holder, footwell lamp on the co-driver's side, and is the central console oriented towards the driver? That's nifty. The external design is somewhat busy, but then, that's me. A 2025 launch may be too late for Renault - the current product line is too weak. I'm hoping to hold on to my 2016 Duster for another 2 to 3 years, and the new Duster 'could' be a great replacement, if it all works out fine.

Same here. I have a 2016 AWD. I dont see any car currently in market that can replace my Duster. Renault. please please dont overprice it. I would also love to see an AWD version. But that is not a deal breaker for me.

Any details on the Hybrid. Is it as good as the the one in the toyota/maruti twins? If it gives similar mileage, I would definitely be happy.
