Correct, it's a segment above but considering how different Toyota's and Hyundai/Kia's implementation of their hybrid drivetrains are, there will definitely be cross shopping.

The current generation carnival with the excellent 200hp diesel engine and 8 speed auto combo still didn't sell as much as it should have. I do not know if the 1.6 turbo hybrid will either past the initial euphoria of a new model launch.

Hi, we have 3 Kia Carnival in our office (top leadership team) and all are very satisfied with it. The only thing which I feel Kia should address is 1. Ground Clearance to make it minimum 210mm or more. 2. Dashboard design & layout, which in previous generation was not 2021-22 kind, it was more of a 2015 level of design.

I feel if Kia manage to launch both Diesel & Hybrid variants at around 35 lacs, 37 lacs & 40 lacs ex showroom (base, mid & top trim), then Carnival will give tough competition to Hycross / Invicto.

Kia unveiled the interior of the facelifted Carnival, featuring a new design approach with two-tone interior colors. Superficially, there is little change, and the gear selection dial replaces the gear lever installed behind the steering wheel.

The center console has also reduced the number of buttons to make it even more simple. It has been equipped with a new air-conditioning control panel that has been carried over from other models that have just been released before, such as the Sportage Niro or Sorento, while the dual screens remain the same as the current model. The operating system has been upgraded to be more modern, with new door panel and console decorations.

Powertrain:

Meanwhile, the power changes that will be introduced in the facelift model will come with power options. The 4.1-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine is powered by an electric motor with a total output of 227 horsepower in a full-hybrid format with a maximum torque of 350 Nm.

No way for these prices. Most likely Carnival will be a CKD. So in all sense it will start from at least 40L ex.

As if the earlier Carnival was small, this one's too huge for the Indian roads

Hycross will have absolutely no dent in sales due to the Carnival.
